Simpsons Season 7 - 12/13/05!

According to TVShowsonDVD.com, season 7 has been set for December 13 release. According to their specs, the release will inclued deleted scenes on 15 episodes but no mention of commentaries in their story. I assume there will be though, since it notes the deleted scenes include commentary.

Woohoo! I just finished off season 6 yesterday; I'd forgotten just how good that season was. So many great episodes. Now I can't wait for season 7.

Yay! Let me be the first to express my excitement for another crappy plastic happy-meal box! I'll still pick it up, and I'll probably still send off for the "alternate" packaging like last time, and be disappointed yet again.

I wish Fox would offer both packaging first time around rather than have to mail something in and pay for S&H.

That's great news being that Season 6 hasn't even been out that long yet! Glad to see FOX is keeping up with this show on a consistant basis still! And why not, it's their most popular franchise. I'll keep the heads to have because they're not bad for display if I ever find a place for them, and I'll continue to order the sturdier box as well. I do agree that they should offer both selections every time around but, it's FOX. That would just make too much sense.

No commentaries = no sale. I got them all on VHS and have seen them zillions of times.

I'll pick up season 8 no matter what though. Best season ever.

I so wish that they would do this.. Or even offer the plastic-head version on the first print-run, and then the standard digipack version on all subsequent runs. That way, the "OMG Limited Edition!!" people could have their chance to have the heads, and us people who are in the "if it ain't broke, why fix it?" category could be happy as well.

I can't believe this will really come out less than 6 months after Season 6, as that season was pushed back so far. I sure hope they go back to the old packaging.

As for the season, it's still classic stuff, but after re-watching the old stuff via the DVDs, hasn't anyone else noticed that Season 6 reallllly jumped the shark?

Aw, c'mon Springfieldians! Fox tried something new and colorful for S6. Some people loved the Homerhead, while others (like me and you) sent away for the "standard" box. Frankly I don't see what the big problem is.

Plus the minor-yet-fair complaints about the packaging fade into nothingness when I think about getting S7 before year's end. S5 - 8 are just brilliantly great, IMO, and I'm very happy to see the release schedule speed up a bit.

Plus I can't wait to see who shot Mr. Burns.

When they announced the DVD release of season 1 several years ago, I decided that if I bought this show on DVD, I would not buy anything after season 5. I already owned the book that the had plot summaries of the first 8 seasons, and almost all of my favorite episodes are from seasons 2, 3, 4 and 5.

So far, I've bought seasons 2 and 3. I will eventually buy 4 and 5. And that will probably be it. I may buy season 1 some day. I am not a completist. I prefer to just buy the seasons with my favorite episodes.

As with any show, each season has good and bad episodes. Overall, I still enjoy watching this show and am proud to say I've been watching it from the beginning. I will keep watching it until it comes to an end.

Not true. Seasons 3-6 have NO bad episodes. I'm only going to collect through 8.

Clip shows. Sure, it's good material, but as an episode....
