Looks interesting enough, I'll give it a couple episodes to see if it sucks me in. Thanks for the reminder.

man, The Sack has his own show already? I'll have to check it out. This is on right after AD, right?

Looking forward to this. Read the book (which was excellent) so I'm curious to see how they pull this off. Plus the cast is interesting.

Dammit, what evil genius decided to put this up against "How I Met Your Mother" and pit Xander (Nicholas Brendon) against Willow (Alyison Hannigan)?

Whoa! Where'd this one come from? This one has potential to be one of the best drama/comedies of the year.

I actually enjoyed this one. I wasn't planning on watching it but had watched AD and just let it keep going. No laugh track =

Guess I'll add it to the season pass list for now.

Can anyone who's read the book comment on how the show compared with the book? I like Anthony Bourdain, but I thought this just sucked.

Though I didn't care much for what happened with Jack at the end [or maybe I just like looking at Andrea], i'm in.

They took little tidbits from the book (the drugs, the illegals in the kitchen, the finger chop, the soon-to-be-bride looking for a fling, except in the book it was a just-married bride and it was fully consummated - yikes!) but the book is obviously much much richer. Bourdain definitely had jobs he was ashamed of before Les Halles came along and some of the sense of camraderie/antagonism was there. It wasn't necessarily a straight reporduction of the book, but I'd say it was a good sitcom rendition of it.

I would recommend the book. It's really absorbing.

It took half the episode before I realized that was Bitty Schram as the reviewer

I thought it was good and showed potential. Atleast there's no laughtrack

Very weird...

How I met You're Mother
Alyson Hannigan - Buffy
Jason Segal - Freaks and Geeks

Kitchen Confidential
Nicholas Brendan - Buffy
John Francis Daily - Freaks and Geeks

....

Didn't care for it even though going in I wanted to. But I didn't care for the style, and most of the jokes were not nearly as clever as they thought they were. The rapid fire one-liner banter only works if some of it is funny. Instead, it felt forced and tedious. The characters were unsympathetic, no one I would ever actually want to be around. It just all came off smug to me, presented as a much smarter and funnier show than it actually was. I have enough on my TV plate to not need this. Happy viewing to those who enjoyed it.

This was actually funnier than I had expected. Not sure if they can sustain this concept of a show, but I'll keep time-shifting it for now.

I liked it. Slight complaint about the chemistry between the actors, but I think that will get better. the last part (with the note) was a bit hokey. but this was just the premiere/pilot, after all. but right now i'm a sucker for anything without a laugh track.

started a season pass, and i'm sure i'll watch all season.

I'm hoping for a Kal Penn guest appearance on this show.
