Unfortunately the booklet doesn't state which episodes have a commentary. Sorry!

I still have to finish LOST before I tackle DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES

"Pilot" (Disc 1) & "Guilty" (Disc 2) contain audio commentaries from series creator Marc Cherry, while "Anything You Can Do" (Disc 2), "Impossible" (Disc 4), and "One Wonderful Day" (Disc 6) contain a commentary with Cherry and director Larry Shaw.

Some episodes can be viewed in an optional format where they contain extra footage. These "Extended Episodes" are "Who's That Woman" (Disc 1), "Anything You Can Do" (Disc 2), "Every Day A Little Death" (Disc 3), "Impossible" (Disc 4), "Sunday in the Park With George" (Disc 6) and "Goodbye for Now" (Disc 6).

Can anyone tell me what type of packing Desperate Housewives has?
Is it the same as "Lost - Season 1"?

Thanks.

I haven't taken my out of the shrink wrap, but it looks and feels the same as Lost, plastic case with the folding case underneath

According to the review on hometheaterforum.com, the packaging is practically identical in every way to that of "Lost," which I am happy to hear, since I like the packaging. That also answers catracho's question as to whether there any reviews up yet.

I plan on picking up both the Desperate Housewives DVD and CD. For those who have the set already, would there be any chance of a coupon inside the DVD for a discount on the CD?

Would this make a good blind buy for my wife? During the Emmys she bemoaned several times missing out on this last season, she was just getting back to work part-time after a few years at home with our daughter, and now we have the HDTV and the DVR so if I can get her caught up with the dvds, we're all set.

And I'd love to pick this up for her as a surprise tomorrow.

What do you guys think?

YES... it is great. I'd highly recommend it, I got mine preordered, waiting for it to arrive tomorrow. I started watching when they started re-running the first season, and I am hooked bigtime!

while i like the packaging of lost, it looks really cool, I don't like it when two discs share the same panal, it looks cheap to me.

I love that as it means a thinner case and less space taken up on my dvd rack, which is my primary concern with cases.

Having just picked up "Desperate Housewives," the packaging differs from "Lost" in that the slipcover for "Lost" opens at the bottom, whereas "Desperate Housewives" opens from the side. I prefer the bottom, as loading from the side is causing my DH slipcover to bow out.

Also, my "Lost" set had an insert, whereas my DH does not.

tvshowsondvd.com has listed a phone number on its web site for those who didn't receive an insert, which they say you can call and get one.

Who the hell is stealing the damn inserts (or forgetting to put them in)? My set came less an insert and a scratched up disc number 5. Plus Best Buy wouldnt let me use my reward zone card and get the reward zone price along with the 10 dollars off coupon. Was anyone else able to get 10 bucks off the 35 reward zone price with the coupon?

Awhile back there was some concern that these were not going to be widescreen. Are they?

I was able to use my Reward Zone card to get the Reward Zone price along with the $10 coupon AND a $5 Reward Zone certificate, but it took some doing. Everytime they scanned my Reward Zone certificate, it kept changing the price from the $34.99 RZ price back to $37.99. It was clear the three different people who ended up having to help me didn't have much of a clue what was going on, so I just kept pressing the issue until I got all the discounts.

I think it completely sucks that Best Buy would offer a coupon and then NOT let you take advantage of your Reward Zone membership, which really isn't all it's cracked up to be anyway.

No Insert, RZ price, AND two $5 off RZ coupons. So, I got Season 1 for 27.99.

And Mallrats for 11.99.

One thing should be mentioned that I haven't seen: ALL of the featurettes assume you've seen all of the episodes -- there are last few minute spoilers of the last episode of the season talked about in the featurette on disc 1! The extras are spread out over all six discs; so just a heads up for anyone watching for the first time.

Will I be able to use the $10 off coupon that came with Lost on top of Best Buy's sale price?
