Spoiler:
Totally ridiculous that Marissa will get kicked out of school for defending the life of a 3rd party. Now if it had happened after she was throwing back booze constantly in the past, then okay.

someone getting punched in the face = classic episode of The O.C.

Summer and Seth were pretty damn funny.

Since somepoint towards the end of last season, Mischa Barton has been annoying me less and less...

Too bad Jeri Ryan is nerving me already.

charlotte (?jeri ryan) = oliver 2.0. and the crow kicked out ryan and marissa. average episode, i give it a 7/10. And this was my first episode of The O.C. in HD, and I wasn't very impressed. It was compressed to hell. Are all HD Fox shows like this?

Some look good, some not so much. I think House looks great - as does Prison Break. The O.C. has always looked average at best.

I would have loved to see Fastlane in HD. And Keen Eddie. And...oh, I'll just shut the hell up before I get pissed.

Just my opinion, but this show has severly gone downhill for me. I'm going to give it one more episode to come back, otherwise i'm out. I worshipped this show during the first season. Hated it last season because it became too Melrose Place for me. Then it has been jsut completely boring this season.

again, just my $.02

I didn't pay much attention to this due to the new Nintendo Revolution news...but it seemed pretty good.

I'm thinking season 1 with this episode.

Punching the asshole dean

Jeri Ryan taking over for the annoyingness of Marissa/like we need another lesbian going after a straight woman (or is she?)

Seth and Summer

Jimmy making his family poor again

And I swear we've seen that lifeguard tower/house more than we've actually seen the beach.

How about that dean - that is what they need - a totally over the top character (besides Julie) that defies believability. Satire, which is what made S1 so enjoyable.

That being said, the Jeri Ryan plotline is a real stinker.

Maybe the Jeri Ryan character is going to go single white female? Maybe she's an old enemy of Caleb looking to get payback on the daughter? Who knows, but anything has to be better than a stupid lesbian stalker plot.

I actually found it more enjoyable than last week and a stepup from last season but as others have said here the Charolette storyline is annoying. Why do we need another story like this?
I really hate what they are doing with Jimmy. My prediction is, he get's whacked. I would have rather him going away with Haley or something.
Like the bitchy girl which is allowing us to see the Bitchy Sommer make a comeback.
Eric Mabias is definitely doing a good job playing a prick.

I totally agree. I think they are using a couple of very unlikely story lines just because they want to get to certain situations. One - Marissa expelled and two - Jimmy's financial screwing up again. Since Tate Donovan is not in the regular cast I suspect they are simply setting up a way for him to be gone again. Too bad, I like him and would prefer he became a regular again. Amanda Righetti too but I know that isn't going to happen either with her in Reunion.

Wait a month or 2. With the baseball playoffs coming up taking out all of Fox's tv, while the other networks show their new line ups, shows like Reunion/War at Home/Head Cases/Bones probably won't be around for long. SO Amanda may be available to come back.

I not sure about this episode and why is the sub-plot involving Kirsten and that reahab hag a "stinker", it hasn't really started yet and it doesn't seem any less watchable than the rest of this episode, which is watchable candy floss at best.

The OC has always been watchable candy floss, light weight junk, nothing too serious and nothing more...

The sub-plot involving Kirsten is a "stinker" because she needs to be @ home w/ Sandy and the boys w/ a drink in her hand! That and Charlotte is just one of those annoyingly devious, control-freak Oliver-type characters. This show had one of those already. Now if they just made her a overly promiscuous woman who wanted to get into bed w/ Kiki and Sandy (and hell - maybe Julie C-N) and share the love all the while walking around in a bikini - then that would be a different thing entirely.

I don't even care about story lines though. They can have all the olivers they want. The reason i loved the first season was the banter between seth and his dad, with ryan sometimes in hte mix. Or Seth and Summer. He was easily my favorite character, and now he thinks he's the man and its just dumb. They need to go back to shows like the Thanksgiving one from season 1. That was clever and funny. Last season had bits and pieces of that, but these first two episodes have had nothing.

I agree with some one you that the series seems to be going downhill. The subplot between the mom & the drunk is completely inane. The plots of Ryan punching everyone, while still a little entertaining, is becoming parody by now. Seth is now a boring cool kid instead of a zany, witty lovable nerd. The dad...well...is he still around? He has had nothing to do on the last few episodes. The Jimmy subplot seems lifted right from lame daytime soaps. Marissa is still...Marissa. Never been a fan of hers.

So...as you can tell I am disappointed so far. I was losing the show in the second season after the phenomenal first season but I wanted to give this season a chance. Looks like it may be next on my chopping block.
