The 1/Only PSP Discussion Thread Part 2: THE REVENGE!

I don't really have any PSP news or anything, but this thread is obviously needed. I still can't wait for Virtua Tennis to be released here in the USA, it's going to be huge.

I hope Princess Crown gets a US release. I really enjoyed what I played of it on the Saturn and it was a really unique game.

The logical guess for a non "value" pack would be around Christmas, likely after. It'll also give the illusion of a price drop, much like the Xbox 360 Core Package exists simply to state that the console launched at $299. I'm hoping to pick one up once the non "value" pack is released myself.

Not sure on the white PSP though. Sony has yet to ever offer an alternate color for their systems over here except for the brief time they were selling the sports-car colored PS2s on their website only for the insane price of $399 while they were still $199 retail.

Out of the above pictured games only two interest me, GTA and possibly Star Wars: Battlefront II. Viewtiful Joe I'll pick up on the DS, the touch "scratch" FX looks way to cool. Thankfully some good UMD movies are on the horizon.

Of those : Definitely GTA and maybe Viewtiful Joe. I'll be picking up SW Battlefront 2 and SSX On Tour for the Xbox instead, I think. SOCOM looks interesting, but the buzz from the beta testers has been terrible.

Too bad Daxter won't be released until next year. I'm all over that one.

Hmmm. As much as I Katamari, I wonder how it would control without the second analog stick. Without tight controls, the game wouldn't be nearly as much fun.

Oh, a couple of good deals on PSP accessories. Ripped from CAG. On that site folks are vouching for both the site and some of the products. That case looks really useful for travel.

All prices include shipping

case $6
http://www.axshop.com/products/pspcase_black.html

charging stand $5.50 >>> Watch movies while you charge!
http://www.axshop.com/products/pspstand.html

screen protectors $3
http://www.axshop.com/products/pspmonifilm_small.html

2-in1 (charging) usb cabel $3 >>>Charge off your laptop!

BTW: Saw in this month's EGM that the pefect cheapass travel case for UMDs is an empty Altoids tin. That's useful info, no doubt.

Yeah. I always figured the DS would be better suited for a Katamari game simply because they could devise another unique control scheme with the touch screen. Will still be good to get some portable Katamari but will be interesting to hear how it works. If the multi-player in We Love Katamari is good then it be nice to see them go wireless with the PSP version.

Thanks for those links - I ordered the case and the charging cradle. Cheap enough to give it a shot.

Ok, finally played Burnout Legends today (I've been in Jury Duty all morning, so I've had lots of time to sit and do nothing).

Anyways, it's probably the BEST game for PSP right now. I'm definetely going to trade in Ridge Racer now, as i will never play it again. The graphics are GREAT, the gameplay is GREAT. Only thing is that it's sometimes hard to see oncoming traffic and some turns with the screen being so small. Also, the Burn Lap (or whatever it's called where you have to beat a time) is a pain in the ASS to get gold, since you cannot hit anything and use BOOST the whole time. It results in a few crashes.

Great game....definetely recommended

Just got Burnout myself tonight. Damn, that's a good game. It really moves and I can see myself playing it for a long, long time. I agree with the reviews; you've gotta use the D-pad. The stick was not fast enough. Hate the music, but otherwise, WOW!

So far on the crash circuit in Burnout Legends all of the maps are the same as Burnout 3. I've only played the first few, but I hope there are some new maps.

Cool. I haven't played Burnout 1 or 2 so that sounds reassuring. I also can't wait to play multiplayer. It says 4 players on the back of the case, but it said up to 6 players in the Gamespot review. Can anyone confirm this one way or another?

So does Burnout require the OS upgrade?

Also, I thought I heard that the PSP version of Madden (where is it anyway) will allow you to play games from your PS2 version's season. How is this going to be implemented? Do you connect the PSP to the USB port? Upload the file somewhere?

Is anyone else having a hard time downloading the large Wipeout upgrades? I keep timing out...

Looks like an advance wars clone is finally making it to the psp, only without the style.
http://fieldcommander.station.sony.com/

and new metal gear acid 2 attachement
http://www.psp411.com/show/product/7...ttachment.html

This is great for all those psp owners that like playing at home holding the system five inchs away from your face.
