Deer Hunter Question
How come mike (Robert Deniro) didn't have to shave his beard? Wouldn't they have made him shave it when he went to war.

Are you taking about afterwards, when he was back home? I figured he was already disharged after serving his tour and was wearing the uniform for the funeral.
