Lost...how many episodes?

I recieved my import copy of the box set yesterday in the UK.

Bit confused at the number of episodes. Originally I had seen it written that there were 26, but I know now that one of the airings was a special called The Journey, so not a true episode.

Firstly, can anyone tell me what The Journey actually was, is it just a documentary, or a sort of clip show updating viewers on what had happened so far ? (I think sometimes this is done if there has been a break of a couple of weeks for sports events etc).

And secondly, an episode guide I have seen lists the last episode as Exodus 3, but the box set ends with Exodus 2.

Now I am assuming that there is no way they would have left the final episode off the box set (it does say the complete season on the front), so I assume that Exodus was split into 3 episodes on the original broadcast, but only two on the DVD set.

I did not see anything about the episode order in the DVD Talk review, so was just curious.

Aaaaahhhhh...I think I have just answered my own question. Just put the last disc in and checked the running times for the last two episodes, and sure enough Exodus 2 runs 1.24, a double episode.

Would have thought this would have been mentioned somewhere though, because I am sure others may be a bit confused about the number of episodes.

I think I recall the final 2-hour broadcast being referred to as Exodus II & III (for future syndication purposes I'm sure).

There's 24 episodes. Counting the 2 hour pilot as 2 episodes and the 2 hour season finally as 2 episodes

The Journey was just to bring people up to date at where the show is now. Survivor does the same thing. No, it's not in the set

The Journey is included on a Best Buy exclusive on pack bonus DVD here in the States, though.
