I mean the special edition ones with the fleshy cover. I am pretty sure i am getting 2, but should i get one to go with it? i've heard it smells over time and is expensive now.

Let me know what you think...

Book of the Dead (Evil Dead 1) did smell for a time when new. Dissipated quite quickly though, Within a week it didn't smell at all any more.

I like the smell of my book. The pleasing odor's half the point.

Ditto here. I got it a while ago when Bestbuy had it on sale for some really cheap price ($15-20) and I never knew there was supposed to be an odor until I came to DVDtalk.

Same here.... it was around $17. I figured it was a good time to nab it.

mine never smelled either, and i got mine release day.

if i pressed my face against it and inhaled it smelled like those foam halloween masks........but i could not smell an odor coming off it unless i put it up to my face.

but i eventually sold mine because i got sick of all this deluxe packaging taking up too much space on my shelves, and besides the cover looking cool, the inside of the book was rather stupid (especially if you bothered to decode the characters and saw it was nothing but stupid gibberish)......and it had very poor disc holding design that scratched the disc up each time you took it out of that stupid plastic pouch......

all in all, i don't think it's worth it, and i won't be buying this second one.

I'm guessing this means you don't want the FOP version of the BOTD.

I wouldnt buy two, and really, i wouldnt buy 1 now. Most of us this will be a double or more dip. I waited for 2 years on the first fleshy book and picked it up for less than $13 eventually. Im sure they will do that same with this one, maybe even moreso. Im a sucker for cool packaging, but im also a miser, and ive built a dvd empire at under $10 a disk.

The extra bonus of waitng to get your fleshy book, it airs out in the store. no smell

Why buy two? Just get one? Why do you need two copies of anything? If you plan on buying "Book Of The Dead 2" and want to know if you should buy one? If you plan on buying it, then YES, you should get one!
