Beautiful Girls, Before I get it, any news?

I have waited and waited to get the DVD for Beautiful Girls. It is, for me, one of the best movies I have seen. Anyway, I really, really want a SE release or something other than the barebones. Commentary, deleted scenes (I know there some more with Marty and Willie in the script, not sure if it was filmed) or anything extra.
Anyone here anything before I run out and finally get the barebones?

Now that Ted Demme has passed away are the hopes of a good DVD release over? We can't get him on Commentary but I would be very very happy with Scott Rosenberg during Commentary and/or the cast.

Also this movie has an amazing soundtrack, love the CD.

Beautiful Girls is Jonathan Demme's favorite film that his nephew Ted made, so that might provide an interesting commentary opportunity...

I wouldn't rule out a anamorphic release at all.

I never thought I would see the day where they released a "Don't Be A Menace..." special edition and they are.

This is one truly underrated and great movie.

this is one of those bulletproof recommendations that i always make when clients and/or friends ask me about a movie that they haven't seen that would be a good one...more often than not, when they watch it, they wind up buying it, because it's an awesome repeat viewer movie. a slightly more hip version of The Big Chill, without all the schmaltz.

great performances from timothy hutton, matt dillon, michael rappaport, natalie portman, and even rosie o'donnell does a great job, and i can't stand her. uma thurman does a head turning extended cameo as well.

I won't hold my breath but I'd love for it to get some better attention myself. Hell, WHO'S THE MAN is also a guilty pleasure and that's only available in full frame. It would be great if they put out a Ted Demme SE box set.

i never considered Beautiful Girls a guilty pleasure. to me a guilty pleasure is something that maybe lacks artistic talent or any depth but you still must watch it.

Beatiful Girls is just a great movie that somehow never got the hype it deserved.

The UK disc is the one to get. Don't personally think there'll be an SE, its not exactly a big seller, alas.

The Afghan Whigs covers are ALWAYS excellent. They are easily the most underrated band of the 90s.

I love this movie, the R1 DVD is decent. Does this movie have a good sized cult audience that would warrent a re-release? The DVD is cheap enough, it's about $7 at DDD.

I see no reason to wait on this one. Go buy it. Is it THAT bad to own two copies of one of the best films of the 90's if it ever does get a reissue???? You can always give the original to a friend, sell it on Amazon or Ebay if a reissue does happen.

Plus, with Miramax in turmoil at the moment, Bob and Harvey leaving in a few weeks, I doubt there is any rush to work with the back catalogue.

Run out and buy it now. You have no excuse not to.

absolutely agreed. the upcoming Twilight Singers (Greg Dulli from AW) CD, though it was recorded awhile back, is awesome too. as was Blackberry Belle a couple years ago.

as for the movie, i bought it a couple months ago i think for 6.99 at circuit city. its a decent price for something i sincerely doubt will ever get another release, at least on this format.
