Legit way to download one song?...

I am looking for the song Nook by Sum 41. I don't want the whole album...just the one song. Does anyone know a legit way of getting it?

Thanks!([email protected])

iTunes

If you mean a legal way to get something without paying for it, good luck.

What he said. Or get it from your local library.
And if you're talking about the song off the Fantastic Four soundtrack, it's actually Noots

Figures...I just went to the Itunes store. And the one song I want "Noots" from Sum 41. Is not available for purchase.

Oh well.

Is MP3.com lying to me? It says it is available on iTunes...

http://www.mp3.com/tracks/20708176/dl_streams.html
(hope that works)

I can't check this myself as I'm at work and can't install iTunes here...

I got no love on the MSN Music Store.

It appears to be on the Fantastic 4 soundtrack, which is only available as a full album purchase. I couldn't find the song available individually.

Oh... That sucks...

I couldn't tell that by my searches on mp3.com.

I do like, however, how the OP included their email address.

Thats one of my complaints against record companies and/or iTunes.

I love that 9 times out of 10 what I want to buy is available for purchase. But there are times, esp remixes of songs, that some are only available if you buy the whole album.

After Spider-Man 2 hit theaters, I really liked the Dashboard Confessional song on the soundtrack, Vindicated. I went to iTunes, and its only avaiable if you purchase the whole album.

Thus far I don't have the song because nothing else on the soundtrack catches my interest. And even paying say $5 or $6 in a used cd store is too much for one song considering that I'd probably get $1 for selling it back to them if I was lucky.

If you're referring to allofmp3.com, I'm not aware of anything that would make using the service nonlegit. As (presumably) an American citizen buying a mp3 with fair use from another country that can sell the rights much cheaper because it doesn't have to shell out to the RIAA, the lawyer friends I've shown the site to at work say that it is on the same level as flying to another country to buy a cheaper item.

It's a loophole, and with that comes a question of ethics. As an end user of allofmp3.com to the best of my knowledge you are commiting no crime by buying music from the site, and if it ever becomes so at the time you made the purchase the music files were legal to buy so I imagine you'd be grandfathered in.

Incidentally, that site does contain the Fantastic Four soundtrack. You can get the song in question as a 256k VBR mp3 for US$0.11. You can also buy it in Ogg, wmv, or any of the standard lossless formats.

I hear that. There is this CD I bought and absolutely loved, OSI - Office of Strategic Influence. Well there were two versions, second version has a second disc with 5 extra songs. Didn't find this out until after I bought the first one. I wish they were available. I check every now and again to no avail, b/c I definitely don't want to buy another whole cd just for those tracks. Doesn't usually dip any lower than $12-$13 on half or ebay either.

Tolen,

I've used the site for six months or so with no problems. I would always advise that any internet purchase be on an actual credit card and not a debit card, just in case. If you're really paranoid you can purchase a $10 visa gift card at most gas stations. I haven't heard any of the horror stories, but I imagine that most would involve porn sites moreso than music sites.
