A&E to air Twenty Four (24) repeats starting in September

For people who don't want to wait for the DVD release of Season 4, A&E will begin airing repeats of Twenty Four (24) starting with Season 4 over the Labor Day weekend. This should give some people a chance to catch up before Season 5 starts in January. After that they will begin to air the series starting with Season 1.

A&E Details '24' Airings, Season Four Marathon
By Brian Ford Sullivan

LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- A&E has detailed its launch plans for its off-network run of the FOX series "24."

It all begins with a special marathon of the show's recently completed fourth season over Labor Day weekend. Episodes 1-9 will run Sunday, September 4 from 2 p.m.-11 p.m. eastern with episodes 10-24 on Monday, September 5 from 8 a.m.-11 p.m. eastern.

The series will then settle into its regular time period on Monday, September 12. Four back-to-back episodes will air every Monday from 8 a.m.-12 p.m. and 2 p.m.-6 p.m. eastern (each four-hour block will run the same episodes).

To review, here's a complete breakdown of all of "24's" airings on A&E for the month of September (all times eastern):

Sunday, September 4 - 2 p.m.-11 p.m. (Season 4, Episodes 1-9)

Monday, September 5 - 8 a.m.-11 p.m. (Season 4, Episodes 10-24)

Monday, September 12 - 8 a.m.-12 p.m. (Season 1, Episodes 1-4)

Monday, September 12 - 2 p.m.-6 p.m. (Season 1, Episodes 1-4)

Monday, September 19 - 8 a.m.-12 p.m. (Season 1, Episodes 5-8)

Monday, September 19 - 2 p.m.-6 p.m. (Season 1, Episodes 5-8)

Monday, September 26 - 8 a.m.-12 p.m. (Season 1, Episodes 9-12)

Monday, September 26 - 2 p.m.-6 p.m. (Season 1, Episodes 9-12)

In addition, local stations across the country are set to carry repeats of "24" on weekends beginning the first week of October. Check your local listings for the participating stations and times as the date approaches.

Oooh, this is great news. I've never seen Season 1 and I was able to start watching S3 of 24, by watching a Season 2 marathon over Labor Day weekend, 2 years ago.

I heard a promo on Chicago's WGN that indicated that they were going to be running 24 as well. Don't know when or what format though.

WGN's running it just like the local stations that'll be carrying it effective October 1st - one episode a weekend (although stations have the option of airing the episode twice).

Now that the weekend is here... just thought I'd bump this for those that may have missed it originally.

I'm hoping A&E won't be editing this at all to fit in more commercials.

Speaking of FX, that's one thing I sorely missed during the last two seasons. Remember during seasons 1 & 2, they used to show encores on the FX channel. I missed an episode last season and then almost missed another while tracking down a torrent of the first. And, during season three I missed so many that I just decided to wait for the DVD.

I guess we'll know soon enough from someone who's seen it on FOX.

Since we purposely decided not to watch this when it ran on Fox, and the DVD is not supposed to come out until Dec. (from what I understand) we are DVR'ing the whole thing and are watching it now. We got up to about 6 or 7 episodes watched so far.
So far it's not grabbing me as much as previous seasons.

this season takes longer to start going.
also one way to tell if they alter episodes is if there are commercial breaks that aren't with the clock.

It's a pretty bad season, with tons of plot contrivances, old hat twists, even more intra-office bickering and backstabbing, and extremely over-the-top and poorly thought out situations. I thought it started out okay, until the first "revelation." Then it just went downhill from there.

Actually, I thought Season 4 started out great. If it's not grabbing you by the 6th episode, then you'll probably hate the rest of the season.

I just started watching season 1 on DVD. I have already seen season 2, kinda sucks, because I knew who was going to make it to season 2, but season 1 is far better. Great show, It gets addicting to where you have to keep watching. Well worth the $15 I paid for the first season. I will definitely watch all future seasons this way, either by Tivo or dvd.

"The following takes place between A & E..." heheh.

I didn't think Season 4 was all that great (at least in comparison to seasons 1-3) when i watched it earlier this year, but sure enough I ended up watching about 6-7 hours again yesterday during the marathon. I really liked it and now I'll probably be picking up the dvd.

BRING ON SEASON FIVE!!!!!
