Where do you sell your used Asian dvds?

I would like to get others opinion here. I have some Asian dvds (all legit - no bootlegs) that I would like to sell. Mainly HK and older films, so far not much love here on DVDtalk from the responses in my selling thread. Ebay doesn't net much due to the enormous amount of bootlegs being offered. Where else to turn to? Anyone have experiences with Asian or HK releases at Mediaplay, Suncoast, or online places that buy dvds back?

I'd like information on this too. I have quite a few HKs that I don't really want/need anymore, and I doubt any local used shop is going to take them if they're not R1/R0.

In NYC, the infamous Kim's apparently will buy DVDs from any region, since I've seen them on sale in their used section.

When you sell them on eBay .. do you only ship domestically or do you list internationally as well? Just curious .. as this may have an impact on visibility to those that know what's a legitimate release versus who doesn't.

If you're located in the states, I've found that domestic knowledge of correct versions is limited.

I generally ship only US, internationally is too risky for me. First there is really no low cost of shipping with delivery confirmation, then there is the slower delivery issue, finally, I would be at the mercy of the receiver. If he/she claims the package never arrived, I'm SOL. Add delivery confirmation, the total with shipping is generally too much now and it's no longer a deal.

I've had some luck with a local (independent?) chain called CD/Game Exchange, but Shagrath is correct...they must be R0. As long as the disc loads in their test DVD players, they will accept it, even if the region code is mismarked on the case.

Trade-in values are acceptable, considering that they probably have no idea how much the disc cost in the first place. I typically get enough store credit to cover the cost of the disc, so I only have to eat the original shipping cost. I occasionally get lucky, like $10 store credit on a $3 version of The Bride With White Hair.

What's your username over there?

Back to the OP, I don't think I have much of a choice besides eBay. It sucks though that I only get a couple bucks from selling a typical HK disc, but what can I do?

I haven't yet purchased a Korean disc that I've wanted to sell off yet though, so I don't know how much those would make.

I also only ship within the US and Canada, as I'm worried about losing stuff in the mail, and I like to keep a cap on shipping at $3.

Ameoba in Hollywood sells used other region DVDs so I assume they buy them. I'm not sure where the original poster's location is, though.

I'm in Chicago, I just submitted my list to Sellmydvds, we'll see what response I get back. Checking online such as DigitalEyes, Secondspin, and Wherehouse, seems like a portion of my discs can be sold there as well. The others are just not in their databases. Maybe there's some hope afterall.
