I only ask this, because, near the bottom of the page under "details", check out bullet #7. I hate it when horror films go through this sorta thing, for example, From Dusk 'til Dawn 2 and a buttload of the Hellrasier sequals.

The first one had me hooked when I was watching the two confined guys. However every time the story left the room it turned into your average grisly thriller and I lost interest. I'm willing to bet the sequel will spend more time outside on the trail of the killer. And a bigger budget doesn't mean a better film (especially in horror).

The first one was great, but i'm not too sure about a sequel. Especially when the two fellas involved in the first one aren't really involved in the writing of it.

The teaser is nice and intense. While it's obviously trying to copy or outfo the 'beartrap' sequence from the original. For a teaser,it was 'interesting'.
As for the film itself? There is only one way to find out if it's good or not....by actually viewing it!

I really liked the first one. Also wondering what the 2nd one will be like. I'm not sure if this movie really needed a sequel, but it will be nice to see what kind of traps and gadgets they come up with this time.

Isn't a SE of the original coinciding with the sequel's theatrical release? I've been holding off on the bare(ish) bones release....

It looks like they took the film right out of the camera on day one and made a teaser with the limited footage.

I also thought the teaser was really lame, especially when compared to Saw's teaser. My, oh my, that was probably the most intense trailer I've ever seen...and it got me really psyched for Saw, only to be ultimately very disappointed.
I think I'll pass on Saw 2.

Spoiler:
This is the horror genre, boy. I've seen worse performances.

My only real complaint with the original was the Fincher visuals. You know, the crisp, saturated colors. The grimey sets. I think Fincher should be the only one authorized to use Fincher visuals. It's so gimicky in other movies.
Otherwise, I the original was pretty captivating. Keeping it on the two guys in the room would have been cool to me, but would've murdered the pacing. Not to mention that it would have went from 'disturbing mainstream horror film' to 'little expiramental indy horror pic'. No way the masses would have paid to see something like that.
