Bertrand Bonello's TIRESIA

Controversial French director Bertrand Bonello's (The Pornographer) 2003 project Tiresia is set to arrive on August 22 courtesy of Tartan UK. The film was nominated with a Palm d'Or at the Cannes film festival.

Film summary courtesy of A. Verdade:

"Tiresia is at the same time woman and man, according to Greek Mythology. Here, Tiresia is a Brazilian transexual living with her brother in the outskirts of Paris. Terranova, an admirer of aesthetics, is a dreamer. His obsession with Tiresia leads him to kidnapping her. However, without her regular dose of hormones, Tiresia gradually starts to change back to a male. Displeased, Terranova blinds Tiresia and abandons her in the countryside. There, Anna takes charge of Tiresia, helping her recover."

If you're around Toronto, Suspect and Queen have had the cdn for rent since last summer. I rented it because of the cover art actually not knowing what it was at the time.

Interesting, I was not aware of it. I would have to see what the video quality is...
