Well, anyone can compile a list I guess. Too bad this schmuck (assuming it's not the OP, because I would never call anyone here at DVDTalk a schmuck ... well, rarely) has no sense of humor or appreciation for certain genres.

That's a horribly written and uninteresting article. Nearly all of the movies mentioned are horror movies, so the author should have made it a "worst 80's horror movie" list. Also, I'm tired of people joking about how terrible 80's movies are. Shut the F up. Just like any decade, the 80's has great, good, decent, and shitty movies.
PS- I love Breakin' and The Gate, and not because they are so baaaaad they are good (hahaha 80's suck lol lol lol big hair, torn jeans, breakdancing lol lol), because they are just plain good movies.

I've noticed that with most people, the movies they complain about and like to trash are actually the movies they enjoy watching the most, but are just afraid to admit it.

The absence of Leonard Part 6 also questions their credibility.

I don't get why April Fool's Day is on there. It doesn't even have the campy/schlocky feel that most of the other entries on the list have. There are certainly dozens of 80s slasher flicks that could be considered more "bad" by those standards. Aerobicide, Splatter Univesity...

Still, all kidding aside, I like several movies on the list. I'm guessing this list may have been meant more as a (sort of) backhanded tribute rather than a putdown of those movies.

Gosh. Just roughly off the top of my head...
Die Hard
Lethal Weapon
ET
To Live and Die in LA
Platoon
Brazil
Indy Jones
There were some great movies then. MANY really stand the test of time. Remember, not everyone was sniffing lines and sporting big hairdoos. The 80's were just as good as the 90's, or maybe even the 70's (I will argue if you want). Do some research on the subject.
.....
Awesomely bad is definately a backhanded tribute - generally dealing with dated fashion. The guy is NOT belittling those movies...
Glad to see Meet the Feebles. I'm suprised THE ADVENTURES OF BUCKAROO BANZAI isn't on there. That's actually the very first thing that came to mind. Wasn't UHF 1989? Or maybe ZAPPED? Or the one where the white dude turns himself black?
I don't know how you found that site. But it's definately just some dude posting cool stuff that interests him. It's not Rolling fucking Stone, you know. Stop makin' fun of the guy.

Maybe I was too hard on the author of the list. Sometimes I just feel like the 80's gets a raw deal. There was actual substance to some of the entertainment that came out of that decade. Remember, for the most part, gigantic-bloated budget action flicks like Armageddon and MI:2 didn't hit thier stride until the 1990's.
