Happy End - Hong Kong Edition - Subtitle Question

Hello All,

Quick question: I recently purchased a Hong Kong edition of Happy End, a Korean movie, on DVD. While I am able to select English subtitles (and Chinese subtitles for that matter), when the movie plays, I can only get Korean subtitles, no matter what kind of subtitles I've selected. Anyone out there ever run into this problem? Anything that can be done about it besides returning it?

Thanks,

Duane

No problems with my copy. What are you playing it on? PS2?

Thanks for the reply. It's a Sony DVD player, which I have never had any problems with before. Also, the DVD won't let me choose the type of sound I want, although on the menu, I can see the two different sound options.

Thanks.

You sure this is a legit DVD and not a bootleg?

Universe has been known to put out bad batches. My copy if fairly old, if that helps. Who did you buy it from? And have you tried a different player?

I have this same DVD and it works fine. Mine was a freebie thown in by YesAsia. Where did you get yours? The problems you describe do sound like those common to some bootlegs. Or, as mentioned, it might just be from a bad batch.
