2 separate questions: 70's music and help with song.

I am having a 70's disco themed party.

Could everyone please post as many cliche' 70's disco songs that you would expect to hear at one of these parties, ie, "Pickin' Up the Pieces" by the Average White Band, and Bee Gee's "Stayin' Alive". Thanks.

For Question #2, there is an 80's song that I hear all the time but I cannot figure who it's by.

A) I can play the synthesizer/organ main riff. If I make a .wav file, how would I be able to make it audible for you wonderful users to hear to help me? or

it goes (can't guarantee its the correct key):

F-(hold)----G-A-C-A-G-F-(hold)--G-A-C---(hold)---G-A-C-A-G-F--(hold)

for guitar:

E string-----1 (hold)--3-5-8-5-3-1 (hold)---3-5-8-(hold)---3-5-8-5-3-1 (hold)

Then the male singer repeats Whooo-oooooo

Thanks for helping my dumbass

As for the first,

"Boogie Oogie Oogie"
"Love To Love You Baby"
"Le Freak"
"Rock the Boat"
"I Will Survive"

As for the second, convert the .wav to .mp3 and post it, or if you can't do that, email it to me at:

I still like disco so I wouldn't call them cheesy, but here are some classics to get you started

Boogie Shoes - KC and the Sunshine Band
Play that Funky Music - Wild Cherry
Hot Stuff - Donna Summer
Love Rollercoaster - Ohio Players
I Love the Nightlife - Alicia Bridges
Jungle Boogie - Commodores (?)
Car Wash - Rolls Royce (?)
The Hustle

I can't read music so I am no help for the last part.

Okay, NOW it makes sense. I was playing it on a java virtual piano over and over and I knew it sounded familiar. I just didn't have the timing right-I was playing them all as quarter notes. Aren't there two F's each time in the song? Maybe that's why I didn't catch it.

It's Rose Royce.

Please don't forget...

Andrea True Connection - "More More More"

Also

KC & the Sunshine Band - "(Shake, Shake, Shake) Shake Your Booty"
Thelma Houston - "Don't Leave Me This Way"

Yeah, it was all memory for me and I should have said how long the notes were. But thanks for looking, man.

I believe the song you're talking about is by Blur.

I just saw your post saying it was Dire Straits. I suggest you find the Blur song so you can have a collection of songs where the singer says woooo-oooooo.

Several of the disco songs I was thinking of have been mentioned. You could add "YMCA" or "In The Navy" by the Village People.

What about "Hotline" by Anita Ward? I think that's her name.

"That's The Way I Like It" by KC and the Sunshine Band.

Maybe it's not quite disco, but "Afternoon Delight" by the Starland Vocal Band is a must.

"Disco Duck" by Rick Dees would be a good change of pace.

Am I invited to the party? Where and when?
