Help with a movie title

Sorry if this is the wrong forum.

It has been many years since I have seen this so bear with me a little. I don't remember the title, the stars or even the decade it was made. And my memory of the plot may be a little off also but lets give this a try.

A man volunteers for a suspended animation experiment. The experiment is in an underground location. During the experiment, there is a earthquake/war/other natural disater that caves in the facility and traps him in suspended animation for centuries. Cut to the future. There is a team that is excavating and find him. They revive him. They are keeping secrets form him but let him know that they are in a war with another city-state.

Now here is the kicker. Their enemies for some reason have two belly buttons. I don't remember why.

Can anyone remember this movie?

Not even close. I'm thinking that I saw this when I was about 11 or 12 sometime in the mid-late 70s.

That sort of sounds like a TV movie called "Genesis II". It aired in the early '70s and was written by Gene Roddenberry as a pilot for a possible series. There was a sequel, "Planet Earth", a year or so later.

I think we have a winner. I looked up "Planet Earth" on the IMDB and I think this is it. Thanks.

Glad to help. It's nice to know my murky childhood memories are good for something.
