is there a better last 10 minutes of an album than Abbey Road?
I mean i love the whole album but from Mean Mr Mustard to Her Majesty its just incredible how the songs build and flow into each other.

i also like shine a light and soul survivor off exile on main street. also like poor places and reservations off yankee hotel foxtrot. but abbey road from you never give me any money on is probably the best end to an album (or entire b side) ever.

The third part of Extreme's III Sides To Every Story is a pretty good piece of music, but actually comes in at about 22 minutes.

It may not have the staying power with likes of Who's Next and Abbey Road but American Idiot has the potential to be named in the same breath as those classics. Of course, only time will tell. At least my kids think it an instant classic and I do too.
Aside from that, in my mind nothing will surpass the musical genius that is the A side of Zappa's Apostrophe. (OK, technically not the last 10 minutes but genius nonetheless)

Does make me wish CD manufacturers would release classic rock albums in the sideA/sideB format with a double-sided CD. It's not necessary, but some albums are build around that changeover.

I'll agree with the Beatles, but a different album — "Sgt. Pepper's." The final three songs on that album always do it for me. Can't end better than "A Day In The Life."

I'm going to go in a different direction, and probably most will disagree, especially since none of the songs were released, but I've always felt the last 4 songs (about 20 mins.) on Metallica's Black album were the strongest.
