I am really interested in the Hills Have Eyes remake. if I am not mistaken Alexandre Aja (Haute Tension) was chosen to direct it.

I haven't heard anything solid about Day of the Dead. Did I miss something?

IMDB has Suspiria coming out this year (Since there is no cast or anything included, looks like it'll be pushed to '06. Or hopefully...Never)

They have Day of the Dead listed to come out next year.

As much as I like the original The Fog I'm actually kinda looking forward to seeing a remake.

As for the others, I don't really care.

The SUSPIRIA remake has been talked about for 3-4 years now.

You can add Last House on the Left to the list. Craven said it would be lighter than his version though.

How about instead of remakes people can have new ideas? This decade is very much reaching the re-make decade.

Day of the Dead is a wacky property.

Universal, from what I've heard, wants to remake it -- and more specifically -- they have the rights to remake the film. However, around the same time the Dawn of the Dead remake was coming out, Millenium/Nu Image was working on a "sequel" of sorts to Day of the Dead. Okay, in all reality, it was a piece of shit (anything by Nu Image is a piece of shit) stand alone zombie film with the words Day of the Dead in the title. However, when Dawn hit huge at the box office and Universal began to push Land of the Dead, Millenium/Nu Image announced that they would release their remake of Day of the Dead before Universal could even start pre-production on theirs.

Other than that, no solid information about either Millenium/Nu Image or Universal's project has been released. However, if Universal does remake the film, they need to bring Roger Avary on board some how... and hell, I welcome the return of Snyder/Gunn with open arms.

The SUSPIRIA remake has been talked about for 3-4 years now.
It's gotta be longer than that. I remember Dimension wanting to remake it since at least 1999/2000. The whole idea on remaking Suspiria is stupid as Dario Argento made the film what it was, because despite how much I love the film, the film's plot is pretty fucking stupid.

That a lot of the movies are being remade by Michael Bay's company (next one up: The Hitcher) is a horror film in itself.

I have read that the supposed Suspiria remake got Argento into thinking about finally finishing his Mother's Trilogy.

Too bad that'll never probably happen though.

You know... because one he said he'd probably finish the trilogy he ended up doing The Card Player, started work on an Italian television series inspired by Hitchcock's work, filmed an episode for Mick Garris' new series on Shotime, and plans on doing a film with Tobe Hooper and Monte Hellman.

Day of the Dead 2????

That's like Night of the Living Dead 3 Part 2. That makes no sense.

Lord, all these remakes make me want to cry.

Day of the Dead 2 came out last year. It sucks. Avoid it like the plague.
