I don't really know how to put this but how do I find out when a movie goes out of the theaters? I always get stuck not seeing a movie I've wanted to see in the theater because I'm a lame procrastinator. Like I haven't seen star wars 3 yet, but want to see it in the theater. Where can I find out when it's going to leave the theater so I can add a bit of urgency to my planning?
I really wanted to see sin city in the theater, got stuck not seeing it, and there are too many more to count.

If your theater posts times on the internet, just check the Friday times (or Wednesday times if there is a Wednesday release) ahead of time and see if the movie you are waiting for is still listed.

You should probably look into trying to help preventing your procrastination rather than enabling it. There are worse things in life you could put off than missing a movie in the theaters.

But maybe get friends to, literally, drag you to the theater. Or get a job working at a theater

It's dynamic, based on ticket sales. There's no "set date."

(With the exception of limited runs at arthouses and such)

The theater I worked at normally found out ten days in advance (two Wednesdays prior to release of new stuff).

Keep an eye on the box office. Something like Star Wars can still be seen since it's been successful and has "legs," whereas it's probably too late to see something that bombed but was released later like The Honeymooners.

Also, see how many showings it gets a day and whether it has been cut down. Sometimes they will reduce the number of showings from four to five per day to just one or two for a week before getting rid of it. If it's down to once or twice a day, it's probably in its last week. Although, not everything gets cut down, so don't assume you have plenty of time just because it's still showing all day.

Another thing to look for is whether something is opening on a Wednesday or some other day than Friday. Although the schedules usually change on Fridays so you generally have through Thursday, a Wednesday opening can make the Tuesday of that week the last day to see a certain movie instead of Thursday.

thanks for the info, that makes sense, there not being set dates. I guess my problem isn't so much procrastination as much as just being busy, and it's hard to drag friends to the theater with conflicting schedules and everything so it would be nice to light a fire under them as well.
