Costco-Friends DVD's 6 for $3.94 plus tax after all rebates

I saw the Sex and teh City deal posted but I didnt see thi sone:

Costco has the Friends Seasons DVD's for $28.99 IN Store

There is a coupon this week for $10.00 off each DVD.

Your receipt will also print out a $10.00 Costco rebate (done online or mail in)

If you buy 6 for example there is another rebate from Warner brothers and you will get $50.00 backs.

So here is the break down, I am using a qty of 6 because you get the most back on the WB rebate that way:

Friends DVD 6 of them: $173.94 plus tax

$10.00 Costco Coupon instant: - $60.00

$10.00 Costco Rebate: -$60.00

Warner Brothers Rebate: - $50.00

Total after all coupons and rebates: $3.94 plus tax.

Now there are other dvds on sale..

They have Nip/Tuck, The OC, Gilmore Girls and a bunch more.

Sex and the City you can get the first 2 rebates but not the Third. So each episode is $8.99. Not bad.

Here is a list off all the deals included in the WB rebate:

http://whv.warnerbros.com/WHVPORTAL/Portal/dvd_tv.jsp

Click on rebate offer under 50th anniversay. That offer is good until 6/30/06..

For example I didnt want friends but I got Nip/Tuck. It was 39.99, than $19.99 after the 2 Costco Rebates. I will hang on to my receipt and if I buy more dvd's that qualify by 6/30/06 I will mail it in.

I don't think the WB rebate will work at Costco. Not only because the price after coupon is low enough, but because there's no item description printed on the receipt. Everyone who bought Costco DVDs before knows that the receipt only prints a general DVD category name with no or imcomplete item name. If there are multiple DVDs under the same item #, they will be printed as if you have bought multiple copies of the same product. In this case, since all Friends and Sex and the City's totally 16 season box sets have the same item #, they will be printed on receipt with the same item #/name/description. If you can't tell which one is which from the receipt, how could you expect the rebate processing people to honor the rebate even if you do submit all the original UPCs or proof-of-purchase tabs. It certainly doesn't hurt to try. But once you got rejected, you will lose all the original materials you submitted. Think about it and proceed with caution.

I used the Costco receipt for the Warner Animated Rebate, and it was approved no problem. Hope that helps.

Even without the Warner $50 rebate, $53 for 6 seasons in nothing to sneeze at. Unfortunately I don't have a costco near me.

Just wanna share this piece of news...

I took out all the Friends DVDs from the large Costco box and to my surprise, Season 2 wasn't sealed! Anyone else here who had the same issue?

Good thing I'll be at Costco tonight to buy some other stuff so I'm going to bring the DVD and request for an exchange. If I do an exchange, would this screw up my rebate if they do a return and print a new receipt for the replacement? I already submitted my rebate online 2 days ago.

I also called a friend of mine who also bought all seasons of Friends and his Season 2 DVD wasn't sealed as well. Interesting....

A second friend of mine just told me that his Friends Season 2 DVD was NOT sealed as well. Friend 1 is in TX and Friend 2 is in IL.

For those worried about the Warner rebate: I purchased the same sets I got at Costco from Best Buy. Went and made a photocopy of the Best Buy receipt, then returned the Best Buy sets. So I have the UPCs from my Costco purchases, and a copy of a full-price receipt with the individual set titles listed to send in.

I found the answer on another forum. Guess it expires tomorrow on the 17th. Debating whether I should drive an hour away to join Costco for $45 just to get in on this deal. Plus, I would assume they would give me the coupon since I am not yet a member. Some Costco stores apparently will decline the discount if you don't present the coupon.

FWIW...

I was talking to a Costco employee working the credit card table which was right next to the section with the WB DVDs. She said, "Oh, they'll just call a supervisor who has a copy of the coupons in their back pocket if you don't have it". It's from the "Summer 2005 book", which might be in the "welcome packet" folder that a new member would get. This is NOT one of those coupon sheets that they often hand out at the door on the way in/out.

I went today and got the coupon book at the customer service desk

I picked up all 7 seasons of Sex and the City and the Office Collection.

They didn't have any of the OC Season One.

I already have all 9 seasons of friends, the Classic Comedies Box, Warner Gangsters and Steve McQueen Collection.

it does end tomorrow 7/17. the costco near my house used to give you the coupon even if you didn't have a physical copy, but now, they'll decline it w/o a physical copy. hopefully your store isn't like this

Interesting. I've seen all of the Friends when they aired and didn't think I needed them. For $4 I would do it. But will I hit Costco on Sunday? I'm busy and planned on going Monday. DOH!

Arent there more than six? I swear I saw a Friends Season 9 set in the pile.

Did you say that because of the OP example? He just used six as an example to get the full $50 off WB rebate, no?

that's right...6 to get the full $50. if you get two receipts (6/3 or 5/4), and you have someone in a different household buy the 3 or the 4, then you can get a max of 70 back on rebates.
