Why should you care if some random people on the internet like your taste or not?

That said, I think you have horrible taste solely on the basis that you have Journey on your list.

Seems a little, well, pedestrian, for the folks in this forum. You need to add some Inbred Confusion, a little EF Adapter, and of course, the incomparable Non-Interlaced.

Your taste in music is your own, and everyone should respect that.

On the contrary, your choice to post a thread about it is insanely stupid.

I can respect fans of the Stones, but I've personally never "got" them. I like the Four Seasons. 80's is such a broad spectrum, it covers many genres: are you talking The Smiths, Van Halen, Debbie Gibson, Kajagoogoo, Iron Maiden or what? The others you name I've never much cared for but it could be worse - you could be a Celine Dion fan.

Anyway, can anyone play? I dig Tori Amos, They Might Be Giants, Miles Davis, Johnny Cash and Siouxsie and the Banshees- plus odd/experimental techno-ambient, female alt-country singers, artists on 4AD's record label, the quirky side of modern alt rock (Flaming Lips, Wilco, Beck, Arcade Fire, etc.), some 80s pop and much much more. What do you think of that?

I'm much more in line with Tscott than Chris77 --- I don't mind the Stones, Frankie Valli is OK in the right context, but if I have to listen to Kansas and Journey for hours straight and I can't be laughing at them...

Nope, pretty much the polar opposites of my tastes. I hate all 80's music except for a few odd things like some punk, U2 etc.

I do like The Stones (but think they are overated) Kansas has a couple decent songs.

The only one on the list I have anything of is Journey. The rest are kinda of 'meh' to me. To most people I meet, I have a wide range of music over about 1200 cds, 300 cassettes, and 300 vinyl, but I'm sure to most people here, it'd be "pedestrian".
