power shuts off

Friends,
I have a Panasonic DVD/VCR theater system SA-HT790V that is set up properly, but when power is supplied to the Subwoofer, the whole unit shuts down and I get F61 error code. Manuel says that it is a power problem with the system. WHAT? When the subwoofer and speakers have no power, the unit runs fin.... but I obviously need power to hear anything. Any Ideas?
is the power unit on the woofer sending a jolt back to the DVD/VCR unit?
Thanks for your help!
Keith

Check for any mistakes in wiring. Esp in speaker wires, sometimes you can get some strands of wire touching the wrong connector, this will short out the system.

It could always be that you have an actual bad unit that you would need to replace. Lemons happen from time to time in electronics.
