Select Disney Titles for $3.99 at BB (after coupon) YMMV

As we know this week Best Buy has some disney titles for $8.99 each. Go to the BB home theater or TV department and you should be able to find a free blue coupon book that has several coupons for Tivo, TVs, and a $5 off 2 Disney DVDs.

However when you scan the coupon, it takes $5 off each title when you purchase two dvds. I tried the Aladdin and Brother Bear in one transaction. In the second transaction, I tried Mulan and Pirates of the Caribbean. For som reasons it does not consider Pirates as Disney or probably the coupon works for animated disney movies only.

You can pick as many coupons as you want and can do multiple transactions. This coupon book is supposed to given with a purchase of TV but BB is giving away or let you take it for free. This is the same coupon book that has the famous coupon for 50% off Tivos which lot of people have used in the Hot Deals forum.

If you can find Disney branded gift cards at Best Buy, they have coupons for $5 off/2, $10 off/3 and $15 off/4 Disney DVD's. Which is a slighty better deal.

There are several threads about the gift cards if you search. I'm too lazy now though.

But this coupons takes $5 off each title which is better than the $3.75 off ($15 off/4) coupon.

If you snag one of those books, the Tivo 50% coupon can be peddled on fleaBay for a decent buck. Or buy yourself a nice Tivo for half off!!

I've found the coupon in the TV area. I'd like to confirm it worked like a charm. It took $5 off each Disney's DVD.

This is finally a "penalty" to BB for them messing up the Monty Python and the Holy Grail CE $10 off coupon in the DVD insider's magazine but not honoring it during the sale two weeks ago.

Bb

Thanks to the OP for the heads-up. Couldn't find the coupon at my BB, but bought the only copy they had of Brother Bear anyway as every other Disney title mentioned in this promotion was sold out.

Thanks for the heads up, I picked up Brother Bear and Mulan. I had to ask for the coupon book. One employee in HT didn't know anything about it, but another did, and he opened up the cardboard box that housed them. Regarding the coupon not working for Pirates, this is speculation, but I don't think it is a live action vs. animation issue -- my guess is that it only works on DVDs regularly kept in the "Disney" section (the coupon reads "Save $5 When You Buy Any 2 DVDs From Our Disney(R) Section", rather than "Save $5 When You Buy Any 2 Disney DVDs").

I found the coupon by one of the employee computer stations in the home theatre department, wrapped in a rubber band under some other random flyer as if they were hiding them. Luckily I grabbed one and quickly went to the register where I successfully bought Aladdin and Brother Bear for $7.98. Wow. Thanks for the heads up Winky.

Was this $5 off each Disney DVD a new coupon that just appeared a couple days ago? Last Monday I used the buy $2 get $5 off (total) gift card coupon, but this coupon is twice as good. I suppose it's a moot point to try because it's now Sunday and I assume those Disney DVDs are back to regular price (probably much higher than $8.99)?

Right, the 8.99 sale price is off. So the savings doesn't make this nearly the deal it was. You are much better off getting these at FYE now with their rebate.

When I was checking out these Disney DVD's on the BB shelves last week, I noticed that the shelf tag said the sale was in effect until 7/16, so maybe they're still on sale at the B&M store, even if they're not listed in the weekly ad.

Nope. It did work for taking 5 off each. I did it, as have others. But thanks for the facts.

Robertcop, there are two different '$5 off 2 Disney DVD' coupons.

One can be found when purchasing a Disney gift card. That one takes $5 off the total purchase.

The other one was found in a coupon booklet given out to people who purchase TV's 19" and up. It was in the home theatre section. This coupon is the one with the glitch and it did indeed take $5 off both Disney DVDs purchased. I picked up Aladdin and Brother Bear for $3.99 each last night.

Went today, found the coupon, got the movies but instead of 8.99 they rang up as 9.99. I had the casier check on the price, but the 8.99 price apparently expired yesterday. I assumed that it went through today because of the holiday, but I wasn't really going to push my luck seeing how I was still getting a good deal. I just shut my mouth and got both for 10 total.

Picked up Aladdin and Mulan for $3.99 each last night at the Best Buy in San Carlos, CA. I almost gave up on finding the coupon book when a CSR in the TV dept said they were all out. But as I was leaving I saw them stacked up at a register near the store entrance/exit.

As the person who rang up my order said when she scanned the coupon and saw how low the total came to: "Sweet deal!". :-)

Thanks to the poster that pointed out this deal.

Oops! Damn wish I had read closer. I would have went over and picked up some extra copies.
