It's dead, Jim.

Wrong franchise, I know...

... but the Star Wars subform appears to have now officially overstayed its welcome.

It was great while it lasted.

Not fair. I just saw the movie today and have never been in the forum. And now you want it closed? *sniff

Yep, dead as a door nail.

The last few threads started have been mostly stupid questions that just end up full of thread craps from people bashing said stupid question.

When AOTC came out, how long was that sub forum up and running before it was shut down?

yeah, it's been dead and beaten.

Give into your anger, mods, and destroy that sub forum.

Perhaps it could be converted to a permanent scifi/horror/comic sub-forum? It seems as though half the threads on the main Movie Talk page revolve around those genres. I love those genres, but maybe it'd be nice to have a permanent home for them since there always seems to be a superhero or Star Wars post on the main page.

Just my two cents.

Comics are already discussed in Book Talk, no need to move them.

With all the activity in Book Talk though it might not be a bad idea to move some topics out so people aren't overwhelmed by the number of posts.

While I agree in principle, it would be nice to not have to weed through the omnipresent comic book/sci fi threads to find threads about books that grownups read.

What a stupid question! It's obviously the toilet.

My mistake, I didn't mean comic books themselves, but comic-book related films. Basically a forum for what are normally considered "genre" films, like fantasy, sci-fi, superheroes, horror, etc.

Still, I see no need for genre specific movie forums. The Movie forum isn't overwhelmed by posts as is. It's rare for their to be all new posts on the front page (or even pages with new replies) when I check each morning.

I agree. I don't really see any need for sub forums based on genre.

I just noticed this is closed? There had been a recent resurgence in activity that I was really enjoying, and I had thought it would at least be left up until after the Ep 3 DVD.

I'm pretty sure the DVD forum can handle the traffic from that...
