What's Going On Over at The Digital Bits?

One of my favorite DVD News websites, The Digital Bits (www.digitalbits.com, has been down for days. My request comes back as "Bad Request," rather than "Request Not Found," which seems to be the norm for sites that are down temporarily for updating.

Anyone hear if they have gone out of business, or what?

I had "digitalbits" bookmarked and got the same message. It's now changed to "thedigitalbits" and no problems.

Loaded fine for me as well. I think missing "the" was the key.

That's strange because I have always gone to the site by using "the" in the url. I thought that's how it always was.

They never did. It has been www.thedigitalbits.com as long as I've seen them up and operating.

Hmm, interesting. I checked my bookmarks and had the site listed without "the" in the address. I changed it and added "the," and now it's working okay. Maybe the site would always work either way, and it was recently changed to reflect "the" and only "the" in the address. It was even missing "the" in my MSN Favorite Link section, and I changed it as well.

The site's official page has always been www.thedigitalbits.com, but a couple of years ago they also registered digitalbits.com and started mirroring the front page there. Every once in a while they have server problems and only the 'the' version updates.
