I really enjoyed the single-disc releases of "Heathcliff and The Catillac Cats".

This should be great.

I heard that if this sells well, Disney may consider releasing Chip N' Dale Rescue Rangers: The Uncut and Out of Control Special Edition which includes footage of Chip and Dale double teaming Gadget while Monterey Jack watches in the corner eating a whole stack of cheese.

I have to say since revisiting Heathcliff with one of those freebies packaged to a cereal box that this series really doesn't have any appeal to me anymore - Heathcliff was kind of a prick.

It should be noted that DIC Entertainment owns the rights to an assload of 80's - early 90's shows and cartoons.

You can view their catalog here:

Cowboys of Moo Mesa, Captain N: The Gamemaster, and Hey Vern It's Ernest! - now I would definitely kill to have those on DVD.

For you completists, don't forget the theatrical release Heathcliff: The Movie (UAV label), which was mostly flashback footage from the series.

Shout! does good work so I'm happy to see any of these old cartoon series get released uncut.

Of course my Ren and Stimpy so called Uncut set has made me careful of trusting anyone, but Shout did a great job with SCTV so I doubt they will screw up this set.

Is this the one with the song that goes: "Heathcliff, Heathcliff, no one should..."

Brings back memories of those afternoons after school....

Season 1 is getting a release!

King of the '80s nostalgia explosion, Heathcliff is back, ruling the neighborhood with an iron paw and a sense of adventure. When Heathcliff is not grabbing fish from the market or teasing the neighborhood bulldog, Spike, he is full of love and good will for others, despite himself. Voiced by the legendary Mel Blanc, Heathcliff is just as you remember: fun, feisty and full of laughs and entertainment for the whole family! Season One, Volume One includes over 11 hours of crazy street cat antics.
Mill Creek Entertainment has today announced that more classic DiC/Cookie Jar cartoons are coming out on DVD this February 21st. One of these is "Heathcliff - Season 1, Volume 1". This will come out as a 3-disc set this February, with 32 episodes on this DVD set. It also includes a bonus episode of The Busy World of Richard Scarry. Cost is just $12.98 SRP.

On the same day for the slightly smaller price of $9.98 SRP, Mill Creek is also releasing Heathcliff - King of the Beasts, a single-disc "best of" title with the show's first 10 episodes. It also includes a bonus episode of The Busy World of Richard Scarry, too. Here's a look a the front cover art for both titles:

Nice but will the episodes clash with the previous 4 disc set?
