Post Your Favorite TV Character - Comedy Edition
Of all the current running series (No Kramer, Sam Malone or Hawkeye Pierce), who is the your favorite fictional character on tv today?
While Arrested Development is my current favorite comedy, it is so much of an ensemble show that it is hard to single out a character so I have to go with..
Dr. Cox on Scrubs. In the four years Scrubs has been on, there hasn't been a single episode where he didn't shine. They could have a stinker of a show and he would still be at the top of his game. No other character on tv can match his razor sharp wit, monologues, gestures and delivery. Also, for a character that has such a rough exterior, he even has a dramatic soft side from time to time. Not very often, but is there.
So John C. McGinley, here's to you:
* Edit - To keep it interesting, state your reasons. Don't just post a name or picture. That helps no one if they haven't seen the show.

Lorelai Gilmore - Gilmore Girls
Talking about trying to have a heart to heart chat with her mother, Emily:
Lorelai: "It would be like the first 15 minutes of Saving Private Ryan but at least those guys got to be in France."
Rory: "You've never tried."
Lorelai: "Oh no, that's not true. I have tried. I have tried my whole life. But my mother and I, we speak a different language. I talk, I think I'm being clear, and all she hears is 'Blah blah blah Ginger.'"

I think it's pretty clear who my all time favorite is, but my current favorite is...
Turk
I hope DF goes on to have a bright career, but that's pretty much my wish for everybody associated with Scrubs.
I'll note that I'm not considering hourlong shows in this analysis. I understand a lot of them can be funny, and I love them for it. I don't believe in drawing the line to put hourlong shows in competition with thirty minute shows, though.

I would probably go with Tobias from Arrested Development. David Cross just has an off-beat way of reading a line that just cracks me up every time. Like in the first episode when he says "How ARE you?" It was a simple, non-funny line, but the way it was delivered just made me laugh.
Honorable mentions would have to go to Buster and Lucille from AD and Lorelai from Gilmore Girls (when it is in its comedic mode anyway).
Tscott, I can't believe that you quoted that Gilmore Girls line about Saving Private Ryan! It is one of my all-time favorites from the show.

I didn't even know Larry David was gay, let alone a molester of animated children!!
Anyway I'll give a nod to Homer, but I'll throw in Borat from Da Ali G Show. "In Khazakstan we have many hobbies: sewing, knitting, rape..." "Please I have to make shit your house."

Homer Simpson - D'oh!
Eric Cartman - I would never let a woman kick my ass. If she tried something, I'd be like, HEY! You get your bitch ass back in the kitchen and make me some pie!
Denny Crane - Denny Crane!
In memoriam:
Sledge Hammer - Trust me, I know what I'm doing!
George Costanza - Conformity is an obsession with me.
Dan Fielding - Are we feeling a weentsy-bitsy bitchy today?
