Darren Hayes

Best male singer.. Darren Hayes
His new album The Tension and the Spark was not released in the USA. I got mine online. Worth the trouble. Very worth the trouble. It's his second cd since he left Savage Garden. Spin was the first one and it was great.. Diane

Hmm - Savage Garden and his first solo - excellent. Second solo album - patchy IMHO. There are some great songs on there but a real stinker or two as well - less pop and more 'electronic' than his previous work.

It didn't sell as well and wasn't released in the States - there's a reason for that. He only had one hit from it here in Australia and the album itself had a very short chart run - not that that necessarily means much!

Darrne

I know everyone is entitled to thier own opinion but I do so disagee with yours.

Yes, The Tension and the Spark is more techno. The music is not the same old music you hear in each and every other song. It is unique.

The words and Darrens voice are haunting. The CD is amazing. It's not the CD that you listen to once. Each time you play it somehow it gets better. The man is not only an artist but a genius.

I do however respect your opinion. If we all liked the same music the world would be a dull place.
Respectly....Diane

Does he have any slow stuff in his solo stuff? I really loved Savage Garden and adored their ballads. And the "unsatiable" remix from Calderone was fantastic. was listening to it this morning.

The Tension and the Spark

The cd does have some slow songs. It is a journey from dark into light. Each song is great on its own. It's when you listen to the whole cd through that you get it. I can't recomend it enough.

I believe you can hear some of the songs on the fan website.
Darrenhaysfans.com give it a try and you will be ordering it online soon..

Good listening..Diane

I have listened to it about 6 times (and about to do do so again) and while it has grown on me, it is yet to really grab me as the first solo album did.

Apparently the third solo effort is under way and quite different again.
