If there was ever a group still together for the money, its these guys.
They really truly hate each other, although they do make great music together ...

While I am a big fan of the Eagles, and I am glad they are releasing new material. My two favorite vocalists in the band are Don Henley and Timothy b. Schmidt. I sure hope we get some new tunes by Timothy soon. He has such incredible range. And Henley is the freakin' man. I like Walsh and Frey, they just aren't in the same class(singing-wise) as the other two.

Watching it now on TV, and my damn HD feed keeps dropping the audio! ARGH!
I'll be picking up this DVD when it comes out. I really hope for DTS, but I would be shocked if it had it.

For what it's worth, this (South African?) web site indicates that it will have DTS:

I was always a fan of the Eagles, bought all their albums, but if last night's NBC show was supposed to be a commercial for the DVD, they lost a sale here.
I don't mean to offend their current fans, but what was that? No soul, no passion, no heart. It looked (and sounded) almost robotic. There wasn't an ounce of spontanaeity to be seen anywhere. They even had a guy playing and singing all of Don Felder's parts, note-for-note, that could have been replaced by a recording.
I tend to avoid big-venue rock acts and most bands that sell a lot of records, so maybe everybody else is used to and accepts this sort of thing as something other than self-parody. Or maybe with concerts like this one doesn't expect spontanaeity the same way one doesn't expect it at a Broadway show or a classical concert.
But this used to be rock'n'roll mixed with country music, two of the most vital and organic genres out there. This wasn't any of that. This was a reproduction.

That show was HORRIBLE! It looked great on HD but damn if the sound was shit. The Horns were too damn loud and very annoying. I could barely hear the damn guitars! And Hotel California was butchered sound wise. All I could hear were the horns during the solo and the whole song had some annoying clicking noise throughout it. It sounded like a clock ticking or something; very weird.

Joe Walsh did show more signs of life than the rest of them, but from what I read on Eagles discussion boards last night, all those routines are rehearsed and performed exactly the same way night after night.
Shame about the digital audio. I was watching in analog, and the stereo mix was ok.

These guys are like robots. They sound very well rehearsed, but lack any kind of sponteneity ...
Just an observation : Don Henley is aging the worst of the bunch ... he's fat.

Saw a commercial for this and it said that the DVD was filmed in Hi Definition and will feature DTS 5.1.
That seals the deal for me - I'm definitely picking it up.
