Nope. So far it would seem the BBC doesnt want to fund it and right now there is no date for start despite rumors it will be this summer for next year release.

They should just skip the movie and go back to do Series 9. Its been way to long w/o any new Red Dwarf love on the TV.

Thanks...and I agree about dropping the movie and doing season 9.

Well, the cast didn't sound too optimistic about it from what I heard on the commentary track of the latest DVDs. I'd rather see another series instead of a standalone movie as well. They've always managed to pack a lot of story into 30 minute episodes. Making one feature length story might not feel the same.

A 9th season would be the length of nearly 2 movies anyway, especially without all the exposition that would be necessary in a movie.

I could care less which one comes first as long as more dwarf is on its way.

I have to admit though that I would probably prefer a new series first though.
