Problem with an older movie in a new player

I wasn't sure whether to post this here or in the main forum but deceided to try my luck here as I think this is a hardware problem.

First off...I just bought the Samsung DVD HD841 player. It performs wonderfully! Makes my dvd pictures look great!

Here is the problem...I popped in the Lost in Space theatrical movie ( I know most people hate it but I like it!!) Instead of loading up the main menu for the movie I get what looks like a programmers menu. I wish I could screencap this to show you guys but it has the file listings for the audio, video and menu systems. I have never seen anything like this on a dvd before.

I even went to blockbuster and purchased a used copy of the movie and guess what...after I popped it in the same programmers menu came up!

I have tried the movie on my other players and the movie plays just fine.

Has anyone had any problems like this or is this something new?

Thanks in advanced for your time guys!!

Take care all!!

I've seen something similar on a couple players before, or maybe just on my Malata. But never on a purchased DVD. Only on burned discs that were the wrong format when I was testing out jpeg capabilities of my players. The discs were not playable when this happened. I wonder if your player thinks it can't read it and is defaulting to a PC-like interface, like mine did. Did any buttons do anything?

I've never watched that movie, so I can't comment on the disc.

Hey Spiky! I could move around the different files and even open them up. I was a little afraid to mess with it too much just in case the DVD could be salvaged and made playable again!

I am open to any suggestions!!

Take care all!!

Moving the files around will not damage the dvd. Unless your player has writing capabilities (which I doubt). You can, however, screw up the player. But nothing can/will happen to the dvd.

Move them around? That's weird, you're out of my knowledge area, here. I think there is a giant thread on this unit at AVS, although it may be down the list a bit. Maybe somebody else with the player can help.
