Chappelle Show Suspended

Weird. I saw a promo for the new season on Comedy Central a night or two ago. If he's sick, I hope he gets better. Guess this means the second season DVD will also be pushed back again.

I read an article recently about how much trouble they've been having writing new episodes. Apparently he's been drifting into Axl Rose / Brian Wilson territory (aka "nothing is good enough").

He was "sick" before which pushed the premiere date back from March to May. This is interesting.

Odd story... Since Comedy Central's site is still promoting both, the DVD release & the 3rd Season start, and they've already shot at least the first episode.

Yeah, May 31st, I have my DVR all ready to go!
Maybe they haven't paid him any of his $50 millions yet?
Alright if he can't make it, Bring on Wayne Brady Bitch!!

(Paramount has indefinitely pushed back the release of the second season--the studio hopes to time the DVD to the start of season three.)

This is the worst case of writer's block ever. I guess EVERYONE screaming "I'm Rick James, bitch" EVERYWHERE has given him such high expectations for season 3.

Hmm...there's an article in the NY Post that's says that the delay is due to a falling-out between Dave & Comedy Central. And before anyone else brings it up, yes, I know it's the Post, so it should be taken with a grain of salt. It's still intriguing:
THE long-awaited new season of comedian Dave Chappelle's show was suddenly suspended yesterday — in the wake of an apparent falling out between the comic and his network, Comedy Central.
The show's May 31 start date was canceled, and the future of the hit comedy series appears to be in serious doubt.
Neither the network nor Chappelle was willing to say just what happened to cause the suspension.
But industry sources are saying that Chappelle is trying to back out of his deal with Comedy Central.
Word was that he is unhappy with some of the material shot for the third season of "Chappelle's Show" and is embroiled in a dispute with the network.
Chappelle has already delayed the beginning of his show at least once before.
Because "Chappelle's Show" is one of the highest-rated series on cable, Comedy Central was willing to accommodate him earlier this year when he asked that the show's February start date be postponed.
At the time, Comedy Central said the show was pushed back because Chappelle was reportedly ill and was dealing with unspecified "artistic control" issues.
But things apparently broke down this week, and Comedy Central announced unilaterally that it was not willing to go ahead with the May 31 debut.
"All parties are optimistic that production will resume in the near future," Comedy Central said in a tersely worded statement.

Anybody else think this could be a publicity stunt? I am not saying it is, but could it be? To drum up attention for a new season for a show that's been in reruns for longer than the first creation week?

Yeah, this does suck. I don't think they should wait much longer to release the 2nd season though. If it's ready, put it out there. At least that will help appease the fans waiting for the 3rd season to begin.

No show. No DVD's.
(I've elaborated on this a little bit further in the DVD thread.)

According to comedian Jim Florentine who also works with Comedy Central. Hes battling with the Censors over what they will allow him to air.
