National Treasure (Best Buy or Walmart Exclusive?)

I just noticed that both Best Buy and Walmart have exclusive offers with National Treasure. Anyone have any thoughts as to which place I should buy it from?

From Best Buy

From WalMart

Could it be that they both come with the exclusive DVD but that Walmart's also comes with a book?

Well, I just went out and checked for myself. I guess I was a bit confused. I thought the bonus DVD from Best by had the extras and stuff. And then when I noticed the Walmart version came with the same extras PLUS a book, I was thinking the Walmart version was the way to go.

It's still a bit confusing as to what the bonus Best Buy DVD has. The DVD comes inside the plastic wrap but not inside the DVD case of the National Treasure DVD. Therefore the bonus DVD covers the text on the back of the case. But here's the kicker...the back of the bonus DVD has the same text as the part of the case that it covers.

So what's on the bonus DVD? No clue yet...I'm at work. Either way, I'm liking that I got a bonus DVD and not just a book which I can probably buy on its own.

My Walmart had National Treasure both with and without the American History book by Kenneth Davis. The dvd without the book was $14.77 and the dvd with the book was $19.99. I chose the former.

Where did you hear about this? Could it just be some rumor?

Between a history book and a bonus DVD with extra making-of featurettes, the latter is the obvious purchase, as far as I'm concerned...of course it's a pisser that neither the movie's DVD nor this bonus DVD appear to feature any trailers for NATIONAL TREASURE but I'm too tired to start that tirade again...

When it comes down to "any other store vs. Wal-Mart," I prefer to give the other store my money 99.9% of the time.

I just went to my local Wal-Mart and they had the regular version as well as the exclusive for the same price of $19.99. I was under the assumption that the regular version was $14 something. Anyway got them to price match it for $16.

Suncoast is the one with the map bonus, but it might have just been for preorders only.

The San Diego/Clairemont Mesa WalMart had National Treasure with the American History book for $13.96, same price as the DVD itself. I went with the book. I figure if the stuff on the BB bonus disc was so good it would have been included on the disc in the first place. I'll get hours of reading from the book.

After seeing this DVD this evening... I smell double dip in the near future. I thought this disc had more features but it doesnt.

Edit: Hmmm guess i jumped the gun a bit, there is more when you enter the hidden codes... but still, you know a double dip is going to come sooner than later.

Actually, I saw both.. At Futureshop (think Best Buy), they only had the full screen holofoils.. At a couple of grocery type chains, they had both widescreen and fullscreen holofoils..
Thanks

Main Entry: "incentive"
Pronunciation: in-'sen-tiv
Function: noun
Etymology: Middle English, from Late Latin incentivum, from neuter of incentivus stimulating, from Latin, setting the tune, from incentus, past participle of incinere to set the tune, from in- + canere to sing -- more at CHANT
: something that incites or has a tendency to incite to determination or action

DAMMIT! Are you serious? I thought Best Buy wouldn't allow that because they were offering an additional, exclusive incentive with their release (the bonus DVD) so their release wasn't identical to Circuit City's and, therefore, wouldn't qualify for a pricematch...that's what I get for assuming...

You all are wasting your money. This will be $8.99 in a month. $5.99 before the end of the year, and then to be found at 99c stores next to "I Love Lucy" and "The Dick Van Dyke" series best episode DVDs.

Here's a question--on this very website, there is a section that advises on Easter eggs; there is a lengthy listing of several steps that can be taken with the NATIONAL TREASURE DVD to bring about an extended special features listing, but it doesn't mention what any of these extra hidden features are. Anyone know? Trailers (fingers crossed)? Any of the featurettes found on the Best Buy bonus DVD?
