Help! Scratch on my TV screen

Looking for help.

Through a misfortunate incident, I have scratched the front of my TV. I have a 51" Sony rear projection. Does anyone know of any way to repair scratches on TV screens?
Any help appreciated.

Thanks

Did you try googling?

I found this:

I think this is a plastic screen rather than a glass screen though.

It depends. Do you have a smooth plastic screen protector (probably) on your set or is it the rough surface the picture is projected upon? (In order to get a much better picture I removed my screen protector long ago and luckily haven't scratched the projected upon surface.)

You may be able to buff out a scratch on a screen protector. If not, that's what they're for and you should be able to replace it.

Thanks for the help! It looks like it's the smooth plastic screen protector. I'll try removing that and repair/buff out the scratch. If not, I'm sure I'll be able to get a replacement.
Thanks again!

It's possible that the rubbed out area might look a little distorted or if the screen protector is tinted (as mine was) it could be a little lighter than the rest of the screen.

But you might as well try.
