Kinsey 2-Disc SE NOT OOP
While Kinsey is not being release until May 17th, if you are considering buying the 2-Disc SE, you may need to jump on it early. As of Thursday, April 28th, 2004, Fox is no longer taking retail orders since it has been placed on moratorium.
Quote from Fox's retail site: "This title was available in a limited quantity and that quantitly has been reached.
I wasn't very interested in the title, but I hope this is not a sign of some new policies from Fox.

It does not mean that the retailers themselves have sold out. Stores order a certain number of copies based on what they expect demand for a certain length of time to be. This isn't the type of movie likely to sell out in advance. I expect that all preorders will be filled, and most stores will keep the disc in stock until they run out several months to a year from now.

Thanks for the heads up on this!
I would expect places like BBV to flood Kinsey to their pre-viewed titles shelves about 6 weeks or so after release. Just my estimate....

Please remember there are two relases of this film. The basic single disc edition, the version most rental stores will stock, and the 2-Disc SE.
Thanks for the assistance Josh.

I am glad to get this info ahead of time. Usually I find this informaiton after retailers run out of stock and it hits Ebay for large amounts of $$$.

Fox Retail as of 5/2/05:
Umm... OK. Make up your mind Fox.

Due to the overwhelming response for this product we have decided NOT to place this product on moratorium at this time.

What a joke. The only reason why the pre-orders were so high is probably because people heard it was a limited release. I wonder how many people, who were in a rush to buy it at whatever cost, will now hold off an wait for the inevitable price drop.

What a wacky thread.
