Ridley Scott's Legend: May 31st release??

Just saw the cover art over at the bits. Anyone have anymore info on this release? Is it just the theatrical? If so, does it contain a 5.1 mix? Wishful thinking I know.

Glad to see the original art in an amaray though.

Dam I just bought the UE the other day. Oh well, not like I won't get it. Funny how that works.

They probably just dropped one of the discs or are just re-releasing it with a different UPC/lower price.

I think some site said it was just the Directors Cut version... if you want the Theatrical then you want the UE version.

Thanks for the warning. It looks like the 2-disc UE is going to be phased out then.

I nabbed an original 27x41 poster of Legend with that image off ebay for $8. I prefer that artwork much more than the UE cover, although the insert for the UE has the same image.

I've put off getting the UE, but how specifically is its content better than this new release, beyond the theatrical cut?

So they are using branching with this one? Awesome, this might be worth it, looks like the only thing missing is the documentary, and I can live without that. Plus it's in a real case and the cover is to die for! I might pick this up!

I see that the UE was released this past February. How does this UE differ from the one I have that I bought May '02? Looks about the same to me...

It doesn't appear to have the 50min. (I think that's how long) documentary, which I can live without.

OK, so no theatrical cut anymore and no doc but you get a snazzy cover. The question would be is the director's cut really an improvement over the theatrical cut...?

The DC is the only version really worth watching.

I believe they dropped the second disk of the UE which also had the full screen version and one feature just like all the other UEs

Before I saw the DC I swore by the TC. After having both, I definately believe the DC is the ONLY version of Legend worth watching.

The second disc of the UE had the theatrical cut, in widescreen. There is no fullscreen version at all in the set. The second disc also had a boatload of extra features.

Yeah, but I prefer the Tangerine Dream score over the Goldsmith score. Just isn't Legend to me if I watch the Director's cut.
