Depression

Afte watching the Interpreter this weekend I felt like watching some Spy Game. The dvd easily has one of the best transfers around. This of course got me thinking about two other Scott films out there that aren't anamorphic.

I remember last year we were supposedly going to get Enemy of the State and Crimson Tide released as SE's which I'm assuming would carry an anamorphic transfer.

Any word on why these fell threw the cracks or a possible updated release date?

Anamorphic Special Editions of both films are available in Europe since three years and they are cheap at amazon.co.uk and other e-tailers.
Why wait for the R1 ?

Because some of us don't have region free players nor want to purchase them.

Some regions have DTS and some are 16:9 but I don't think any have both.

On most of the major R2 DVD's you don't hear PAL Speedup because the sound is pitched down.

The whole movie still runs too fast, and even those discs that are "pitch corrected" (which is a very small percentage) still don't sound as good as their NTSC counterparts.

I'm not a PAL-hater, but if given the choice between two otherwise comparable discs, I'd go for the NTSC version every time.
