Paramount! Where is: Looking For Mr.Goodbar?

I have been waiting for this title to be released on DVD a few years now, and still to no avail, and my patience is running thin. So does anyone have any inclination as to when this title will be released on DVD? Your comments will be highly appreciated. Thank You!

My guess is because that movie has a whole lot of pop hit dance classics is the holdup.
Just like GREASE , SATURDAY NITE FEVER took so long to put on dvd.
The music rights.

That could be possible. The music copyrights for the film may delay the release of the DVD, but I thought once the music rights have been confirmed through the studio, it could be used spontaneously on all movie formats.

Nope, sometimes they only have theatrical rights, thus they have to change the music for home video(like many early VHS releases).

I think today they pretty much think ahead and make sure the rights cover theatrical + any and all home video formats(including those yet created far off into the future).

But I can imagine that repaying and getting the rights back to all those older films, may be a real pain in the ass. But I hate when they alter soundtracks because of rights issues and am all for studios sorting them out(even if it takes awhile).

Sounds very logical . I didn't realized that the soundtrack could become such an hindrance for other copyrighted movie formats. If this is the case then, I will be waiting much longer for the DVD release.

I only have the movie on VHS, with the original motion picture soundtrack, all pre-recorded from various artists during the mid 70's disco era. I'm not to sure about the other two formats, but there's a possibility.
