Interesting that the show would sell out before one band was officially announced. As a ticket holder to last year's "great on paper lineup but poor in ticket sales" cancelled tour, I'm disappointed that they've condensed the festivities to a one city offering, but if this means a successful run for future lolla's then I'm hopeful.

The first one (91) was awesome as well - Jane's Addiction, NIN, Living Colour, Siouxsie, etc.

I too still have my 92 tour shirt, but it's a bootleg and, ironically, was made with a good material. Sure, it's ugly as far as today's standards are concerned, but I still pull it out to wear around the house.
I didn't go to any more Lolla's until 2003 when Jane's was the headliner with Queens of the Stone Age, Incubus, Jurassic 5, Audioslave, The Donnas etc. I was only there for Jane's (bad idea considering how short their set was), but Jurassic 5 and Queens impressed me live. Last year's tour should have been the best with that lineup. It's a shame that they couldn't sell tickets, but I don't think there's been a successful 2 day festival tour.

I'm a bit surprised they are even having ONE show after last year.

The confirmed bands aren't enough to make me spring for a ticket. But if that rumor about Billy Corgan showing up is true....that's a different story.

Yeah....'cause Billy's known for his extensive touring and festival appearances.
He'll be doing a theater tour around that time (about a month after his solo album devuts). Given that it's in Chicago, and he's bigger there than anywhere else, it wouldn't be the worst place for him to show up.......

BODY COUNT'S IN THE HOUSE
Hell, I mainly went for Rollins Band and Butthole Surfers...We were one of like, three people actually listening to Rollins.
I don't think the Violent Femmes were at the Atlanta show, could be wrong though. I think they switched out for the East Coast/West Coast tours, IIRC.
91 and 92....my friend slept through Living Colour [think I've mentioned that before], and though JAMC is more of a 'indoor' band, I enjoyed both those first two. Although even by 92 you could tell it was losing the 'alternative' feel. The bands were still overall widely represented, but the feel of the festival itself.
I think the only band in this year's rumored lineup I'd have any interest in seeing--or any familiarity with--is the Pixies. Although I didn't even know the Ramones and Devo played any of them, those would have made it worthwhile to check out.
My '91 Lollapalooza shirt, the thin white one, has a huge bootprint on the chest I got from the pit at an outdoor Primus/Helmet/Rollins show.
