Troubled years pretty much sums this up. This stuff was godawful compared to what came before if I recall. Definitely just a rental for me to see if it was as bad as all that.

I'll pass on this one since they're not as good as the early episodes and since they botched the first release.

Both.

Seventeen as in half hour episodes, twenty-nine as in full length stories...

This looks to include all of Season 3 and seven of thirteen episodes of Season 4.

Odd to break Season 4 in half, but it takes the show to the end of 1994 production wise.

These episodes aren't nearly as good as Season 1/2 but they aren't all bad.

To Salve or Not to Salve, Ren's Pecs, Ren's Retirement are all great.

I can't watch Stimpy's Cartoon Show anymore. Wilbur Cobb is just too disgusting.

I've barely seen Season 5, I never watched it when it premiered, I saw it later after doing trades to complete the series.

Releasing Season 5 solo probably wouldn't sell well, not enough to fill up the set.

So it looks like set #3 will have 17/33 episodes.

I didn't like much of the new Ren and Stimpy, yet I still miss it.

What was botched? I have it. I've read that John K. cut out some footage that aired that apparently "he wasn't happy with". Any truth to this? I've got the impression that the set was how he wanted it, for better or worse. Just watching the interviews, he seems like ass, so I wouldn't be surprised.

Let's see- John K. Cut material he wasn't happy with, yet the front cover of the DVDs has a big bar on it that says 'Uncut". I'd call that botched...

Not to mention the sections with timecodes, lesser quality video, etc. Go back and look at the threads from when the set came out for more details on how the set was messed up...

I will definitely be getting this. I know some people were freaking out about the first set not being "UNCUT" or whatever, but to a casual fan such as myself, these dvds are an absolute delight.
