www.yourmusic.com increasing $4.99 subscriptions to $5.99
My thread disappeared... usually if it's in the wrong forum it's moved or if it inappropriate it is locked and an explanation given... so I don't know what to make of my thread just going poof. Here's the info:
Starting on May 13, 2005, we will be increasing the monthly fee and CD prices at yourmusic.com to $5.99.
If you do not wish to continue your subscription at the $5.99 price, you are free to cancel at any time by accessing your account.
We hope you'll continue to enjoy your subscription and take advantage of our still low price of only $5.99 with free shipping and handling.
Sincerely,
Yourmusic.com

No, it was definitely here. I guess a mod made it a post instead of a thread.
There's a main thread in Hot Deals but a lot of people may just think it's more posts about the deal, not the price change. I thought it was big enough news to warrant a thread.

Also, the club has been $5.99 since it was launched. This only concerns people who got in on an introductory $4.99 special offer.
But...
I'm mad too!

$6 a cd seems to me to be a pretty good deal. Unfortunately, I'm about tapped out at yourmusic.com.. another album or two since I just resigned back up and I'll be done again. Hopefully they'll get a lot more in in the future.

But, but, but, I really do need 500 copies of Devil Without a Cause! They're for my "cousins".

That's still pretty insane that they'd ban someone who was putting money into their company, and wasn't stockpiling 40 of each title. That, to me, would red flag a sa re-seller, but not someone who just purchases 1-2 copies of 40 different albums or boxsets.
Isn't the purpose of their site to provide cheap music? You'd think they'd understand that people are sometimes willing to purchase twice as much, when the price is about 50% less than stores.
That's a foolish policy of them.
