Ocean's 12-Special Edition?
It seems pretty odd that a Soderbergh film is getting such a bare-bone release. All of the reviews so far seem to be very suspect of this having to do with HD-DVD or just Warner's attempt to milk a later special edition, but what's the story? Do I pick up Ocean's 12 on Tuesday or hold of for an inevitable special edition?

I say wait...and if you really really want to watch it again, spend the 4 bucks at Blockbuster and rent it. Personally, I thought the movie was boring and definitely not as good as the 1st one.

I'm one of the few who really liked "Ocean's 12", and would like to own it on DVD, but I'm definitely waiting for an inevitable S.E. I've been in this game for long enough to know better, and in the meantime, I've got plenty of other things to watch.

I am VERY dissapointed with this bare bones treatment, considering how packed the original version was as far as special features (which I always watch and enjoy, especially commentaries). I may pick this up eventually, but I will give it time first, and cross my fingers for a more appropriate SE.

As posted in a CC/BB/Target ad thread, CC will be giving away David Holmes' brilliant soundtrack with the DVD..

Your "advice" is worth crap. He's asking whether to buy this version or wait for another. I don't see what your "advice" has to do with that. I also fail to see how your renting habits are relevant.
Try not to thread crap.
As someone else mentioned, if you want it go ahead and buy it. If/when an SE comes out, just sell this version (or trade it in) and buy the new one.

I'd buy this one. I haven't seen anything to make me think an SE is coming out later. WB rarely has multiple releases of the same title. When they do it's usually years after the first one was released. This is not Sony/Columbia Tri Star we're talking about here.

Well, that's embarassing. Obviously I thought it was his only post in the thread, as I generally don't pay attention to the names on the left, only the content.
My apologies.

Way to get people's hopes up, phatboy.
I'd say it will be a long time, if ever. I think we're more likely to get a re-release of the first film first, and the most likely time for that would have been when the sequel was in theaters or on DVD. That time has come and gone, so I don't think they're planning anything on these.
