Message to the IMDB: Nooo, don't fall prey!

I was browsing around the good ol' IMDB when up pops this:

http://www.imdb.com/ad/?id=15716&spe...ame/nm0911910/

This was the first time I've seen something like this on the IMDB. I hope it doesn't become a frequent thing, as that'll make skipping from page to page looking for new movies quite an annoying chore.

I'm in no position to complain, as I understand their free site must cost quite a bit to maintain and provide...but I pray on all that's holy that this doesn't evolve into something that occurs every time you click a link on their website.

Yep it's all to blame on IGN.

I would hope that Amazon could make more from imdb via sales than having to resort to stuff like that.

I used to hate all the pop ups. Couldn't figure out where the hell they were coming from at first, but eventually realised. IE6 SP2 blocking them nicely though

So, you were looking at Vincent Ward's filmography.

I use Mozilla, and it still came along.

Haha, I wasn't sure if anybody stuck around to see what page I was trying to go to. I was skipping from page to page playing six degrees of separation when I saw "What Dreams May Come" on somebody's filmography. I was impressed with the overall aesthetics of the film, so I decided to see what else he's done.

Interstitials have taken the place of pop-ups, which is fine by me. A takeover ad has never locked up my computer and I can click through it in half a second.

I actually think we launched them on our network before IGN.
