Looks like they're really getting inspiration from the Donner version as one can see by that ship's shape.

I think Singer said he intended this movie to be a continuation of the first two movies? I also thought he said they weren't going to retell the origin story, which means these shots must only be used for quick flashback sequences? (I'm getting this information from the Wizard interview with Singer in the most recent issue).

Yup, that's what I heard too. Maybe these flashbacks could be put in the opening credits of the film upto the point where they change the story to him "disappearing".

Maybe they are going to do a once over refresher at the beginning of the film. Either during the credits or a 10-15 minute sequence.

I read an Eva Marie Saint interview where she confirmed that she plays a widow in the film, in keeping with the timeline of the first two films. So the Kent farm isn't necessarily limited to a "flashback" sequence.

and if anyone is interested, Singer will be doing KongIsKing-esque production video-diaries from the set at Blue Tights Network

Yeah, they already have a cast and all that too.

Brandon Routh arrived in Australia yesterday I think.

Apparantly, in this revisionist version the spaceship's edges didn't crumple upon entering Earth's orbit. So how the hell does Jonathan hide the ship now? Looks a little big to move on his own or bury!

Looks like they went to great lengths to find a farmhouse and barn similar to the one from the first film.

Wow, that's a honker of a space ship. I find it hard to believe that anyone could not spot that thing incoming And better yet, how are the Kents going to stash that thing? I hope this movie delivers.

i think it looks too much like the 1st and i am not sure i like that. i am ready for a whole new and re-imagining to make it special and separate it from another superior film.

I'm still not sold on the casting of Kate Bosworth (and nothing short of an acting miracle will change my mind in that regard) but those shots show promise for other aspects of this production.

Question: Anyone know any easy to find films where Brandon Routh has acted in? I want to get an idea of what to expect beyond what he looks like.

Looks like his only other movie is in post-production...other than that, only TV shows! No biggie there...Chris Reeve was only a TV actor when hired to play Superman.

I just did and if that ends up being true, it's the first bad thing I've heard regarding this production. Not sure if this has been posted even in the older threads but here's Routh dressed up for Halloween 2003 I think:
