Happy Birthday, Juliette Binoche!
her birthday is almost over and I just wanted to make a public declaration of my admiration for Juliette Binoche... the woman that turned down a lead role in Jurassic Park to make one of my all-time favorite films, Blue, by Krzysztof Kieslowski.

She's lovely and talented.
That said, it's a bit silly posting to announce a (non-milestone, anyway) birthday of someone most of us will never meet or correspond with. The deaths posts I can understand - that's a big deal, an end of a career, a mutual mourn. But a birthday? She'll have a glass of champagne and be back at work tomorrow.
At the risk of this sounding like a threadcrap... she is one of God's better-looking people, and her presence alone is usually enough to get me to watch a flick. Now, if only they'd release an uncut The Horseman On The Roof...

admittedly, her birthday was a flimsy excuse to express my admiration. I've seen plenty worse uses of bandwidth.

Hubba hubba.
I used to think Juliette was the most beautiful woman on earth, until Maggie Cheung came into my life.
I'll have to screen Blue back to back with The Unbearable Lightness of Being this weekend, as a little tribute.

She's also just about the only person who can make an old army helmet look sexy:

Hey, let's be fair: today is somebody else's birthday, and I think we'll all agree he deserves the same respect as Ms. Binoche:
Happy Big 65, Walker!

Actually, this fits on this board:
From the VANITY FAIR 4/03 issue...
VF: Where are your favorite places to go on the internet?
Juliette Binoche: Well, I like Yahoo...Craigslist makes me giggle like I was back in Paris, and DVDTalk. They have a bitchin' movie forum where people argue box office results and Jango Fett all day long. I have many buddies there. Scott Shelton is handsome and knows of what he speak about.
So this thread does matter!
