Laura in Canada?

So, we are a week away from release date and the main online retailers in Canada still do not have Laura up for pre-order. I visited a local HMV and it is not in their system. Best Buy doesn't have it listed either. First the Classic Comedies Collection and now another classic not getting it's due in Canada. Any word on this at all?

I'm not really fimilar with this movie, but it appears dvdsoon.com and cdplus.com (Canadian online retailers) have it up for pre-order.

Futureshop.ca has it up for preorder.

I was already to order these until I found out they have bilingual packaging. No thanks.

Nice prices here. Cheaper, now, then DVDsoon. Are there any coupons and such for this site and, also, has anyone dealt with them. Trustworthy?

I was told that Call Northside 777 was the only one with bilingual packaging in Canada. Laura and Panic in the Streets don't have french tracks, therefore no french on the covers.

They are fairly new but I've ordered from them a couple of times without any problems. If you buy 3 DVD's, the shipping is free. I assume this is for Canada only, but you'll be alright.

To all Canadians that bought Laura, is your disc stamped as a Fox Studio Classics or as Fox Film Noir?

The correct version should be as a Fox Film Noir but it seems while reading the Laura thread at Home Theatre Forum that Canadians once again are getting the short end of the stick.

Bloody Hell!

Not to hijack, but I read over there that you got your Classic Comedies set from Barns and Nobel. Was it quick shipping and, in the end, what was the total cost? How did they charge you the GST?

Cheers,

I have yet to receive the box set. I received an e-mail by Barnes and Noble on 03/18/05 (the day I ordered) that my set was packed and ready to leave the warehouse. The speed of delivery that I chose was 5-14 days service by Canada Post. In regards to the GST, I only see the charge for the set and shipping and handling.

I'll let you know once the package arrives how it worked out.

The features are all still the same, right? And the actual cover art is the fox Noir line, right? If that is the case then it doesn't bother me if we got the classics printing on the actual disc.

Mine is stamped as a Fox Studio Classics, bought from CNL.

Everything seems to be there: The commentary track, two documentaries, deleted scene, extended movie version and the theatrical trailer.

And the actual cover art is the fox Noir line, right?
Yep. The cover art is the Fox Noir Line with the banner at the top and the number "01" on the spine.

If that is the case then it doesn't bother me if we got the classics printing on the actual disc.
Me neither.
