Ok I have a quick question about the ending. Is that Keanu who picks up Phoenix at the end?

i can"t really tell when i watch who is picking him up,but,i think it's just a kind strange trying to do a good deed

Yeah, its hard to tell. I was watching the movie and the ending was leaving me a little sour "I was like Keanu better come and save him or this ending just sucks" I figured it was him.

I always figured it was left vague on purpose....it's then ultimately up to the viewer to decide how they think the movie ended....
personally I never thought it was Keanu's character, but most people I've talked to thinks it is....or want to believe it is......

lol, and actually, I always took the "Have a Nice Day" message that starts the end credits to be a big "fuck you" to the viewer to go along with the vague ending.... of course this may not have been Van Sant's intent...but it's how I always took it.
