Moonlighting Cover Art, extras, price
From tvshowsondvd.com
Online retailer DVDPlanet.com has added a pre-order listing for Moonlighting - Seasons 1 and 2 on DVD. The listing reveals that the cost of the 6-DVD set will be $49.95 SRP (but of course the e-tailer discounts it; an advance order from them currently goes for just $34.97). They show the release date to be Tuesday, May 31st.
We've recently reported on extras for this release:
* Commentaries from Cast & Crew, including Cybill Shepard, Bruce Willis, and creator Glenn Caron
* Commentary from the President of the Moonlighting Fan Club
* Featurettes, including a spotlight on the show's fans
* Premium Packaging for the DVDs, with what should be 25 hours of episodes from the first two seasons
"the first two seasons of the show are scheduled for release...with the music intact, "

Is this going to have the screen tests from the Anchor Bay pilot DVD? I don't mind losing that commentary -- it wasn't great and I'm sure these new ones will be an improvement. But it would be a shame to lose the tests...

Sounds pretty good considering a normal "season" is 24 episodes. I wonder how they'll handle subsequent seasons which decreased in number of episodes each passing year - S3 15, S4 14, S5 13.

Is this, in fact, still Anchor Bay, or is this release coming from another studio? Will it include the pilot at all (not that I really care--I have the Anchor Bay pilot release, but it might matter to others)?

rfduncn, my guess would be two boxed sets, one with Season 3 and half of 4, the other with the latter half of Season 4 and all of Season 5.

Hmmmmmmmmm ... not sure of the screen tests. I would like to know that too.
Yes the pilot is included with this box set and it is being distributed by LIONS GATE, not Anchor Bay

I suspect that these will be individual commentaries/interviews, put together into one track. I don't think they sat in a room together to watch eps and talk about the 'good ol' days'.

And it was a double-brain-fart; Crow331 had already answered the same question up in post #7 in this thread!

The official SRP for this is $49.98 - so all those rushing to get prebooks in before the price changed need not have worried...it's going to be around $30 to $35 on most e-tailers.
